so let me get this straight. the yard at horse guards is a military facility, MOD offices etc. the parade ground out back is public. MOD police are there is prevent against terrorists attacks, public safety etc. ok, so then why allow a mob of tourists into the yard, who disrespect, mock, ridicule and believe that the guards and horses are there for their amusement and abuse on a daily basis. it's letting the fox guard the hen house. am I wrong? please tell me where the logic is. no where do in the world that I know of that would allow their military facility to be used as a tourist trap where their guards have to deal with rude entitled tourists. even the street outside is a disaster , dangerous, guards and horses in constant peril of something happening to them. it is a privilege not a right to be allowed access into the yard and view soldiers and the horses if it is being abused, which it is, then instead of shutting horse guards down completely since the parade ground is public and the museum is out back close the entrance to the yard out back to the general public, out on the street barricade off around the guards and horses as it is done at downing street so the public can still see and take pictures but at an extreme arms length so the guards can preform their duties in peace and quiet. that is what they signed up for. simple, but in my view London District and Westminster Council only see all the money that is generated from this moronic tourists who have made a historic and beautiful city into a dirty, over expensive tourist trap and to hell with the guards and horses and protecting them. my heart goes out to the guards. absolute joke.

Always the simpletons allowed to breed, decent folk who keep their little ones from harms way know not to put their child in path of danger, the others couldn't care less, they just carry on breeding. I've seen parents above their kids hard into the boxes area when the child tries to step out of it knowing it's against the rules, likely seen others told off for doing it and they don't want to get in trouble for stupid parents actions. One plankton out his 3 yr old daughter right in front of one unsettled horse in another video, the guard had to back up the horse gently so it wouldn't dream out and accidentally kick the child. Luckily the police officer had few choice words for idiot parents, along the lines of the a knot in it and grow up you stupid cretin, never a truer word unspoken.

I truly wish people realise that the horses are well looked after by professionals. I really hope that people realise horses are powerful sentient beings, who, if they choose do not stand for anything the grinning tourists subject them to. The guards treat them with respect, understand them, work with them to achieve a mutual goal. The tourist need to realise they are not some docile puppy who want their attention. They do not need it. They need to be respected just as this ancient tradition needs respect. Stop putting human sentiments onto working horses.

These horses have round the clock care and attention and 24 hr access to a vet so if anything is wrong with the horses mouth or bit ( which btw they do tend to play with sometimes) then the guard would raise any concern, they only do one hr shift at a time before a break

Perhaps you can't see the rings in the bit 2:12 for example, but throughout really?? They're not supposed to be half way up the sides of a horse's head. They are supposed to be in the corner of the horse's mouth. There is nothing wrong with the bit but the guard is pulling way, waaaay, to hard on the reins, and that is what causes this. We do know something about this. The world is full of equestrians.

One of the reins is just for show and there is no reason to even mention it. You can either choose to learn something or you can refuse to. Up to you. You will probably go into a speech about how you're close to the whatever, but this isn't an issue specific to that, so it doesn't help you. It's a rider issue non specific to this location - this is hurting the horse's mouth and that is why all this plays out.

Apparently this has been going on for before our time. Recent adjustments have been made with the new signs and painted boxes. Some days the crowd isn’t too bad and for most of the tourists they follow the rules. When the crowd is too much for the horse, the trooper will remove the agitated horse or the trooper will close down the horse guards altogether. I agree the tourists don’t seem to understand that this is not an amusement park. They disrespect the rules as well as the soldiers themselves by touching them, harassing or getting into their spaces. The tourists are like all of us when we’re triggered to obey and our self-will says no.

That particular box is reputedly 'haunted '. Supposedly Charles II walked through that particular box to his execution and has left the imprint of his nervous state on the box. I not sure I believe that but many horses are disturbed in that box.

It is haunted, yes, but by who I'm unsure. Maybe it is who you think it maybe, certainly plausible of those times, executions were almost a daily occurence, especially if the poor, London was a very different place to how it is now. Wasn't unheard of for the rich and poor passing each other on the roads I imagine. I love history so will try and find out a bit more about that particular box that the horses hate going in. Animals sense spirit around them, no wonder they act up when out in that particular box compared to their mate who is chilled and relaxed I their's. Definitely something in the air.

That horse is not in distress…I have seen that very same horse pull the same routine, over and over. He knows if he acts up enough, they will put him back in his stall. He needs to be broke (trained) of that bad habit, otherwise he will continue to do it. I have horses and I have seen many bad habits some horses have.

How do you know it's a mare? Most of the King's Guard Horses are Geldings, though they occasionally have mares.

What a shame that they can't just tell us what's wrong. Something hurts? A smell bothering him? Just having a tantrum? It would be so much simpler. Poor creature. But the guard did an excellent job with him.

I thought there was something wrong with it too. The reins around the horses neck seemed too tight, while the second set was too sloppy IMHO

Dasselbe habe ich auch gedacht und schon oft bei den Horse Guards gesehen. Die Zügel werden zu straff gehalten und das Bissel "beißt" sich in die Mundwinkel. Das würde jeden, auch Menschen, verrückt machen. Lernen diese Wachen überhaupt reiten??? Mein Vater hat Haflinger gezüchtet und wenn wir als Kinder so etwas gemacht hätten, Zügel stark anziehen, es wäre unsere letzte Reitstunde gewesen.

Bevor du mal wieder dumme Titel in dein Video setzt, Abdullah, informiere dich zuerst mal über das Reiten mit einem Pferd. Ein Reiter, der KEINE Ahnung von der Weichheit eines Pferdemauls in Verbindung mit einer Trense, sollte NIE auf einem Pferd sitzen!!! Und dieser Soldat hat NULL Ahnung.

@@Icedfantastic1 Ich weiß über Pferde eigentlich genug, bin mit Pferden aufgewachsen. Und wenn ich ein solches Verhalten wie der Wächter getan hätte, die Zügel viel, viel zu kurz gehalten, dass es dadurch Schmerzen in den Mundwinkel gehabt hätte, hätte ich damals Reitverbot von meinem Vater bekommen. Anscheinden weißt DU nichts von Pferden. Also leise sein.
