LOTS of questions about what type of doctor I saw. He specializes in Bioidentical Hormone Therapy. From what I've been told, your regular gynecologist or general practice doctor will not do this extensive type of testing, so it is important to find somebody who specializes in bioidentical hormone therapy. His practice is through BodyLogicMD and they have lots of locations around the country. Hope that helps!!

Im 28 with two little girls, my husband convinced me to see a functional medicine dr. I also had 0.01 testosterone and they put me on 1ml cream everyday, its helped a little but I still do follow ups with the dr to keep everything in check. I also got my Fallopian tubes taken out to become sterile, it is a cancer preventative (they found cervical cancer starts in the Fallopian tubes) and it was covered mostly by our insurance. Glad you got it all figured out.

You need to have a regular GYN explain this. From what I've understood, it's supposedly hard to titrate hormone levels (that shift a lot) and they go by symptoms and changes in cycles mainly (but I don't see a problem with getting them tested now and again.) I actually want to get them tested every so often. I went to a primary care place and this stupid NP tested my hormones and told me they were way high. Well, I'm on HRT so they should be out of range for the standard post-menopausal woman. When I called her to ask her to explain, after I thought about it more, she wouldn't call me back or answer my email. I then had an appt. with my old Gyn and she said they were within range for someone on HRT. This NP also tried to steer me to a compounding pharmacy with bad reviews - for bioidenticals. According to Cleveland Clinic, by the time bioidentical hormones are processed, they aren't all natural either and there is no long-term testing on them. How do I know what's really in them? I'd rather not take the risk and be on a regulated course of treatment that is made the same way every time. Otherwise, I am putting my health in the hands of someone at some small operation and may not get a regulated dose - or who knows what else is in them... My Gyn gave a big NO to all this and not because pharmaceutical companies can't make money off of them. She just said they have not been researched enough for ultimate safety. Cleveland Clinic explains it on their web site.

@@ShilohShepherdmomI disagree somewhat because I went to a woman gyn and when I asked her about getting my hormones checked and possibly get on bhrt she was completely against it and said if women got any of that they would get cancer, stroke and die. I was astonished. My male doctor said the same they completely shut the door on any hormone replacement ever. I had to get online..these people are going off an old outdated and flawed study. I think they’re intellectually Lazy for not being on top of the latest education on this subject.

My wife has been getting pellets for a number of years. We had to find a new Pellet Doctor. This Doctor asked me to have my Testosterone tested. Turns out I have almost ZERO. So I started on Testosterone for men. In one year I have lost 70 pounds. Turns out hormone change for both men and women as we age.

I did the sterilization in the form of removing my Fallopian tubes. People ask me all the time why I had to do it and not my husband. He would have, but with the removal of Fallopian tubes, you are also preventing some forms of cancer that begin in the Fallopian tubes, so to me it was a no brainer. I have lived my best life since then. I have far less mood swings, I don’t have to come home from work and take a nap just to get through dinner and my energy and self love is through the roof. Getting off of birth control was huge for me! Good luck Katie!

I suffer alot of the same symptoms I'm 37 was diagnosed with pcos about 14 years ago I have 1 daughter who is 20 and realy wanted another child well back then anyway. I was also born with hip dysplasia and a curved spine I've had total hip replacement and not felt right since that was 5 years ago and feel worse now than ever have. I've been on birth control for years was told I needed it as I lacked progesterone anyway I was recently diagnosed with fibromyalgia but while at the doctors last week I was talking about how I feel etc and remember both you and ellie's videos so I asked my doc how do I go about biomedical hormones etc but she wants to do my bloods and check first but I realy feel I need them done properly once and for all. I'm kind of stuck at the moment I struggle with pain and walking due to one hip being dislocated the other has a not very good metal hip and shortening of the leg also have few other issues. I'm from Scotland so not as easy to get to see all these kind of doctors but realy hope they start listen to me soon as I csnt go on like this . Glad you got it all looked at and can start feeling better x

The one Katie mentions is BodyLogicMD and you can easily find one of their doctors online as they are all around the country. I have been seeing one of their doctors for 10 years now and have never felt better. Prior to this I was 40 pounds overweight had no energy and could not sleep. After 2 days of being on pellet therapy and taking what they prescribed all of my symptoms disappeared. 6 months later the 40 pounds was gone and have more energy than ever. A couple years back I thought I would see if I could do without it so I stopped taking everything and had not seen the doctor for about 8 months. One day my wife came to me and said you are going back to the doctor to get back on your treatment as you are irritable, always in a bad mood and I cannot take it. I didn't even realize it as it slowly wears off and I had became the same old me where I could hardly get out of bed in the morning always tired which makes you irritable. Made an appointment and went back in to see the doc and within a couple days it hit me like a ton of bricks again. Wow I did not realize how bad I was actually feeling. I am a believer and will always take what is recommended by my BodyLogicMD Physician.

When you take D3, you need to take K2 as well. K2 helps the body absorb D3, and cal ium too - they work together. High cholesterol is high, usually when there's inflammation, based on our diet. So, the body produces cholesterol to fight inflammation. Also when we are stressed, the body does the same, in order to fix the issues. The body is AMAZING, our lifestyle more than anything can heal us if we are patient. Sometimes it's a little boost with vitamins - supplements, or BIH 😊🌷

Don’t go with an IUD. Hormonal iuds have lower synthetic hormones, but they also can really throw you off. A copper iud has no hormones, but most everyone experiences heavy, painful periods. Katie you should seriously look into essential oils!! I’ve been able to level out my hormones using clary sage and other hormone balancing essential oils. Also, look into what your using in your home for cleaning and self care products. Many cleaning products have hormones disrupters. Synthetic fragrance is another thing that can be really damaging to hormones!!! Gut health is KEY, to a healthy body, physically, spiritually and emotionally. When we cut out ALL chemicals from our home, we saw SOOO many benefits in everyone in our family!!! My TERRIBLE OCD, anxiety, mood disorder, depression, is pretty much non existent for the 1st time since I was 14. Crazy!!! With Norwex and DōTERRA we have been able to do this. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to pm me! I’ve done all of this on my own, because I was determined to feel “normal” again, after 4 kids in 5 years before I was 21 years old. I think you would see much better results, in addition to all the supplemental things you’re already doing!!!

I had a great pregnancy I wasn’t fatigued all the time very energized my acne cleared up and everything but after is when I think my hormones really went bad.i need to try this I’m getting tired of always getting prescribed birth control that didn’t help or make things worst. But I’d like to know if your still taking this and has your energy mood And things got a lot better?

I wanted to share my IUD experience, in case it can be of help as you travel this journey. I have the ParaGard, and have had it for just over a year. My only negative has been a heavier cycle, however beyond that, noting negative to note, and it indeed does it's job to prevent pregnancy. I chose it very much because I have hormone issues, and didn't want to add another dose of hormones to the mix. 😁 Best of luck!!!

Katie! I'm using the Testosterone cream. I rub on my arms when I'm going to bed so it doesn't accidentally rub on my husband lol. You can rub inside your tights when you are going to bed too! I'm glad you found help with your hormones! I started my treatment after Ellie talked about hers.

Your doctor may already be looking into this, but you may want to find out if you have the MTHFR gene mutation because that can affect how you absorb b vitamins, and Folate, as well as cause low testosterone. I’ve had a few friends with this gene mutation, and have been able to get a lot of answers for some of the same issues you’ve been having.

Omgosh Katie! I just had all the same testing and ended up having the Biote pellets implanted this week. I’m still in the healing stage. I was also diagnosed with Hashimoto’s at the same time. After struggling with hypothyroidism since the birth of my last child 18 years ago, I’m excited to have answers and to start feeling human again. I’m hoping and praying this is the answer. It’s crazy that you are talking about this today at just the time I needed to hear it. You are always on point with your vlogs. ❤️

Katie yes, I also went to an establishment in Columbus, Ohio which is a similar type facility where they measure your hormones and deliver the pellets into your hip by incision! I went because I couldn't put one foot in front of another/ menopausal issues!! I was 52- 53 at the time!! I'm 54 now!! First of all my advice would be to make sure where your going is a regulated (up and up) facility with an actual accredited Physician!!! I found my particular experience was more about money, false information, and more money!! When going to the facility I noticed the majority of the female staff had either fried, thin , massive hair breakage!! Honestly not understanding what I was completely getting into, I went for it hook line and sinker!! I never saw a quote doctor, I saw a physicians assistant!! The doctor per say, just signed off on paperwork!! The first physians asst. Told me no estrogen due to cancer history in family!!Literally they replaced that Physicuan asst. With another that would tell me no problem on taking estrogen!! I also took the testosterone pellets!! At first I felt better!! My infusion sites were always horrible and I'm scarred!! Then the worst happened!! I was given to high of levels of pellets!! Their focus is on your libido!! I went because I was feeling horrible, exhausted always!! In menopause!! With getting to much hormones I lost all my hair around the frame of my face and temples like an aging balding man!!! My only advice is make sure where your going that it is on the up and up with accreditation and a Physician with great name, and results!! Good luck with this for you!! I can tell you that your ahead of the game with your conversation with your doctor and your results given to you!! I'm anxious to hear more about your experience!! I currently take both hormones from my gynecologist which are not bioidentical it natural and I want to change that for myself!! Please if you have the time message me how you found an accredited physician and how this works for you!! Love all that you are!! Thanks Julie

Make sure you have a combined vitamin D and calcium tablet as one can’t work without the other. Thank for listening to me when I said about checking your B12 levels. I wouldn’t want it to get as bad as I got with my red blood cells going as low as 2. Be aware that as you get older your doctor may put you on b12 injections for life which you will need every 12 weeks as that is the life cycle of a red blood cell. Keep on getting better. We are all here for you.

Lab tech here! :) All of those weird tests (thyroid peroxidase) that you were talking about are to make sure that your thyroid isn't out of wack. He was checking for Hashimoto's disease. Sounds like Estrogen Dominance, girl!! Your diet can really play a role in this as well, lots of articles out there about it. I have a patient who has done the pellets and she has had luck with it! A paleo diet has really helped me with my hormonal issues surrounding my period!! Would totally recommend the copper IUD if you are looking to get off of hormonal birth control. Good Luck, Katie! I went in for my yearly GYN appt 2 weeks ago asking for the pellet implant like your talking about because I have the same symptoms as you. I researched all of this prior to my appointment. I was disappointed to find out that my doctor doesnt do the bioidentical hormones, she went on to explain that this was a "new thing and misconception" and was no different then the hormone therapy I was already taking by mouth. She said it was ALL synthetic lab made hormones and what I was taking is as close as you can get to what the body makes. I was confused all over again and was wondering if she told me all of this because they didnt offer it OR if what she was saying was a fact. She said people are being mislead with these biological hormone therapies. IM SO CONFUSED ABOUT IT ALL NOW! Btw, I take hormones because I've had a hysterectomy and ovaries were removed as well...I Thought by switching to bioidentical hormones, it would be better, she burst my bubble and I'm confused again.

I've done a lot of research. There is a lot of conflicting information out there. I'm generally turned off by the chains who sell supplements and "bioidentical" HRT. It isn't covered by insurance and it's very expensive. But desperate people will pay a high price for the hope of restoring their health. It's all a gamble and it really shouldn't be. Sad state of affairs.

It’s interesting that he wasn’t concerned about your glucose. That is the reason for all of your issues. Your hs-CRP is an inflammation marker. These indicate a poor diet of too much carbs. and sugar that are throwing your hormone levels off. Estrogen being high shows a congested liver because it is overworked from trying to keep up with all of the lactic acid waste that you are creating from a poor diet. Check out Dr. Darren Schmidt’s videos. Lactic acid is the cause of disease. We have to ask ourselves why things aren’t working properly instead of being quick to take hormones and pills, etc.

An awesome way to sort out cholesterol, is to eat more porridge oats. My cholesterol hopped up to 5.3 for seemingly no reason. I went away and looked up ways to help it out and started having porridge oats a lot more. The very next time I got it checked, six months later, it was 4.4! And my good cholesterol went up and the bad went down. Pretty much the only thing I changed was eating more oats.xx Also, if you guys are done having babies, maybe Cullen could step up and take over the birth control on a more permanent basis, that way you don't have to have gone through everything you did to get the kids, have the kids and everything else AND have the birth control put on your plate too, when you are needing to get your body in balance.xx

I also have suffered with what I think is PMDD. And I also have more ADHD issues before my period. I get "stupid". Foggy/ super forgetful unfocused. It has something to do with hormones. I have homocysteine issues. The B vitamins and I take 10,000 units of vitamin D. These have not helped my homocysteine level that much. You need to do a folate vitamin. Homocysteine level is a marker for inflammation in the body. You might want to do an MTHFR level too. You have had miscarriages and this is a big factor in miscarriages. Please do it.
