It transformed from different animals such as pig, cat, dog, etc. And one of the famous story about aswang Maria Labo and more guyses. Iknow some of Filipino's didn't believe about this because they live in a new generation where they're not exposed to hear about those stories not like us. My great grandfather had a bestfriend who is a kapre. My mother said when my great grandparents were still young back to their country side. My great grandfather become friends with a kapre. They also like to hang out each other and sometimes the kapre gives blessings to my great grandfather. But when my great grandparents left to another place which is the home that I live today, the kapre doesn't want to be separated by his human bestfriend. But you know when my great grandfather settle their place here, he was shocked to see his kapre friend follows him and tells him that he walked through the sea just to be with him. The kapre even grow a small tree into a huge tree to become its new home. My great grandmother got surprised when she knows what her husband hiding from her... But when my great grandfather pass away, the kapre also died along with the tree. It still shocking though to his grandchildren when we notice that there is a big tree looks dead at first but its slowly gain it life like any normal trees.

I remember a few sleepless nights as a kid when I was forced to sleep over at my cousins who lived in the outskirts of (rural) town with lotsa trees and no other houses. Their roof was just just plain dried coconut leaves (pawid). My aunt would tell us to sleep early. If we hear something outside, keep the doors and windows closed, lights off and pretend that no one was inside the house. She said there was a witch who lived nearby who would hunt children during the night. I would cry silently by myself while trying so hard to sleep. Haha it was torture. That place now is full of apartments 🤷🏻♂️

When my mom is pregnant with my older sister, she and my dad heard the sound of a tiktik. The sound is tiktik too, the tiktik is far when the sound is loud like when having a normal conversation with a person and its near when the sound is low like a whisper. Mom and dad heard it at almost dawn and told me the sound was faint at first and became loud and just disappeared as the sun rose. Mom told me they were lucky that it was almost dawn when they heard it. Also when we were taking a vacation in our province as kids, my older brother and older sister along with my cousins took a walk in the middle of the night in the fields. The fields has a very large tall tree in the corner so they decided to take a rest there. But as they where resting, one of my cousin saw a smoke coming out of the tree and saw a pair of eyes in the leaves assuming it was the kapre. So they ran home scared. I heard these when i was young but i didnt believed them coz i havent experienced it and i wont even try to. Also, many filipinos are anti-abortion coz of the tiyanak

There was this one time when I was still 4 years old. Me, my sister and my teen aunt were alone in our two storey, old but newly bought house. It was late at midnight, my mom and dad both worked at different cities away from our place so they usually won't be home until 11 - 2 a.m. (Our house was in front of the entrance of a forest but was also facing the road if you walk 250 steps) When my aunt was still cooking food for us late-sleepers to eat, me and my sister were watching t.v. And my sister who was holding the remote lowered the volume, and I got mad so I shouted at her. "We need to lower the volume or else monsters will come!" Was what she said to me but I didn't believe it, hell did I even listen. I shouted at her "LOUDER! IT'S SO LOW" repeatedly until she finally highered the volume to 27 and I triumphantly sat down the couch. Not even 5 minutes later, we heard flapping wings out the window, and the sound of *'wakwak'* which means bats and the sound a crow would make. It kept getting louder and louder so me and my sister ran to our aunt without Turning off the T.V or cleaning our mess. Our aunt Also noticed the horrifying loud sound and rushed downstairs. She covered the windows, locked the door and put 2 chairs in front of it, lastly she turned all gadgets off and put salt in the windowsills and doorstep. My sister and I didn't know what in the world was happening and I was about to talk when the flapping sound stopped. I was wondering why auntie still didn't open the doors and windows. She was trembling and fiddling with her fingers. Not until the voice of our mother was heard. She was hesitant to open it but then did it either way. And yes it was our mother not some monster. My mom was shocked at the mess but didn't question it as she knew why. From that day on, I always listen to my sister cuz I wouldn't wanna experience that shit again. (Oh and me and my family also experienced seeing a shape shifting whatsoever guy in front of our house when I was about to like turn five 6 months later)
