The Kennedy Center Honors was the best. I saw Ms Dionne Warwick today and congratulated her and she took a selfie with me. She was very sweet and gracious. To see 4 ppl of color singing opera to Renee Fleming was epic. Lord help our black men with all these lawsuits. The Dionne Warwick tribute was phenomenal … had me in tears. I agree 100% about The Bee Gees tribute. Very disappointed. Too many hits and the singers were not up to par and to be honest, was disrespectful given the history and successful career. Not enough respect given to the brothers. Very lack luster and like an after thought. Should have been done better and did not at the level as the other honorees.

So true, Patty. Cynthia’s performance was phenomenal. I was never a fan of the song “Alfie” but now I will hear it from a new perspective. Cynthia’s experience in the theatre showed through loud and clear in her delivery. The rest of the show was meh. I preferred the earlier Kennedy Center Honors years when they devoted more of the program to the highlights of the recipients. There is too much dance numbers and showcasing other acts (like Estefan). The BeeGees segment was lousy, with the notable exception of Barbra’s video tribute. The Guilty LP is one of my desert island records.
