It takes a brave person to back themselves and follow their heart in this world - I’m sure Baz would agree. It’s great Baz has supported Sam’s decision and encouraged him to follow his dreams. I’m sure Baz can see a bit of his own entrepreneurial spirit in Sam and if Sam and Baz can inspire more young people to be successful in their own right the world would be a brighter place. Thanks to all the positive supporters on here and to those who have never been brave enough, there will always be a place for you but I wish you well 😘

Great Chapter as usual Baz. Like in previous comments it is really good to see how you take the Health and Safety of your workforce seriously and the work life balance. I've seen first hand where this is not always the case. But as the Boss you need to take care of yourself as well, so make sure you do, we want the weekly chapters to continue for many years to come.

*Hi Baz, Cal, Dan and The Director* *Welcome back and happy new year* ... *Your employees are the most important asset of any business* ...the wheels that bring in and deliver orders and make going to work with it sometimes... *I applaud your time off* . An army marches on its stomachs but after the "campaigns" , "battles" and "Wars" won in 2024 they need to *REST up too* . *I'm currently sat in bed soaked wet through , very itchy and pissed off with Shingles* ....not my best week on top of the Leukemia but like I've said to you Baz it's watching you and the team that *keeps me distracted* , happy and educated!! Big shout out to *Frank* and well done you....what an amazing opportunity!! *Trailer* I remember the purchase and that was the first time I'd seen a trailer have a better spec than the gold standard of Ifor Williams.... *Track guards* - I love these and your versions look FAR more higher spec'd....as per built to last 😀. *Sam* - coded welder at 17 ...wow... I totally understand the way he thinks. A lot of people these don't really know what they want to do really.....I wish him well and I hope he finds what makes him happy ! You only need to look at students leaving universities with degrees in subjects they simply dislike and don't use going forward. *The times they are a changing* !! *TECMEN* - some awesome bits of kits ! Hopefully 🤞 🤞 🤞 🤞 I'll be feeling a *lot better* by the next episode , be safe , Gary

New to your channel baz, I'm in the motorcycle trade and find industrial welding therapeutic and enjoy seeing the end result of any project. I do a fair amount of plant and heavy plate for the farmers and father in Cornwall. If I ever left the motor-trade I would get into heavy fabrication without hesitation. Shame the young lad decided it wasn't for him. With his codes he could achieve a lot weld anywhere in the world it's a high demand but not for everyone...

@adrianshjadesheehan9991 >> I know for one thing he'll regret his choice of career change when he gets older..... yes you could go back to it but thing is all those years of low pay for a social life style because one wants to live the life rather than build it up to a real money earner professional career that will make your so called friends or family envious. They pay a lot more than min wage for a trade + experience (earlier you start better your off) You can name your price to any employer. Like a lot of trades youngsters want the $$$ from the start rather than wait later to get double to triple the hourly wage doing the same thing. Having a trade to fall back on to is the best advise you can get! Yet seams to fall of deaf ears & yet youngsters moan of min wage jobs... go figure! The older discarded gen of people that learn a new life skill/trade are laughing at the youngsters moaning.....

Great to see Sam's recognised he wants to do something else with his life early on. If you don't enjoy what you do there's no point doing it as you don't give it your fullest and rolls into the 8/5 mundane routine. Nice one for leaving on great terms and you've recognised the young lads talent Baz, great leadership and boss characteristics makes great viewing. Hopefully he finds another trade or career he enjoys and can always come back and benefit your company. Not many bosses around that care and look after their staff in terms of health, mental health, safety equipment. Looking forward to the 2025 content as a fairly new subscriber. Great to hear about you shutting down for Christmas. Yes it is a balance but if you look after your staff you are more likely to keep them and their experience. Agree would be great for Callum to increase his presence on the channel too in the same way some of the Ashville team are also appearing more. Just one suggestion Baz, have you and the DTM team thought about installing some advertising signs on the blank sections of the wall of the workshop, potentially this could also be ways to advertise any channel sponsors too. That just leaves me to congratulate to the new team member and wish happy new year to all the team at WF and DTM

We do want to see more of Cal. But we don't want a clone because you're one of a kind, Baz. I like that his way is different. All the best to Sam, I wish I had tried several different paths before I was 20.

A message for Sam, im just in from a day at work trying to push on whilst the weather is in my favour. I don't normally work weekends. Point is for me even at 41 it doesn't feel like work, At the end of the day, you want to do what you enjoy or you will resent things. Life always throws up opportunities, but you need to know when to take them.

The break is more important Baz, the work will still be there when you get back. Managing expectations of customers is a skill even some of the best managers don't have. All customers think their job is the most important and of course they want the machine back working ASAP. Do the manufacturers offer track guards as an optional extra? Get your designs patented and offer the manufacturers, licences. Is going collecting materials the best use of your time Baz?

Hi Baz . Brilliant chapter again . Just a question , with what you do I assume you have first aiders , really wondering if you have an A E D ( automatic defibrillator ) around as they are an absolute game changer , not only easy to use but to get trained on . Keep up the good work .

Good point, and perhaps some of the other neighbouring businesses on his tradeing estate would also contribute towards the cost if they were allowed access to it in an emergency during working hours.

Happy New Year to you all, Mt OCD is kicking in here Baz, While cutting the plates on the plasma, could you round off the corners on the square plates, it would look a lot better, thats just my opinion from someone looking in from the outside, There may be a reason why they are square though,
