I was 17 when i joined the Army. Filled with stories of heroics and glory i walked into the recruiters. Having family that both survived and lost in the holocaust, i wanted to do my part. Stayed in for years. My heroics and glory turned into a fight for my life. Now I'm in and out of the VA hospital wondering where the glory went. I guess Hollywood got that part.

Thank you, and all others, for your service to combat evil and human discrimination including, "Those of us who may think that we are more righteous and more deserving than you and yours." We do our parts to help ensure equality and independence, and then add in some "Dignity". I have; "Better Glory In Our Lives", because of your service. Folks like you, yours and ours can make a good difference when we set our minds and resources to IT. If we are also striving to "better our worlds thru your and our services"; then you are also "mine and my kind of folks". My father was 82nd Airborne for four years in WWII, starting in N. Africa and then some years later, marched into Berlin. He was not the same when he returned home. He remained haunted by what he had to do to survive, and the buddies that he lost and picked up pieces of.... and other horrors that he would take to his grave in his 60's. He was a very mean drunk, which he also overcame, eventually and before he passed-on. They were an amazing generation. God Bless You & Yours. Peace for the universe. Carry-On.

The photo at 16.06 is not "Jews being deported by train...". Clearly the 'passengers' in the open compartments are soldiers - probably Russian POWs. At 20.58, the "Weeping Frenchman" is not in Paris watching the German conquerers marching thru' the streets of Paris. He is in Marseilles watching the flags of fallen France being marched through the streets of Marseilles on their way to Africa. The French regimental flags had been moved into the south of France in order to preserve them from the surrender. The man's name is Jerome Barzetti.

It was kinda a backhanded way the Americans handled the liberation of Rome. Especially with Canadians roll in Italian Stalingrad. And the battle and liberation of Ortona (Bloody December) etc... Then when the Canadians arrive on June 4, 1944. The Canadians were left back while the Americans roll into Rome and take all the credit. They wouldn't let the Canadians be a part of it.😠

@MARYREED-nh7gbАй бұрын
How many Nazis? That would depend on when you did the survey. In the 1930 and into the 40's just about everyone in Germany and many other countries were Nazi. After the WW2 and the defeat of Germany, well you couldn't fine many people who would admit to it. The running gag at the time by Americans was there no Nazis in Germany, just Eskimos.

Just continue doing things right and "Rejoice In Glory", including having a little help from The Holy Trinity. So, "Carry On About Our IT's", and "IT" is what it is - plus what we choose to better, including things like "Increasing Goodwill Joys Of All Others." And forgiveness when we fall short. I haven’t really seen too many shocking photos, I mean, no photos of after hangings, executions, those wouldn’t be shocking because like others have mentioned, war is brutal, but if you’re not going to show everything, then it’s kind of a waste. I guess if you did show something, you would have to blurr it out, thanks to fear from KZbin. I might sound like I have no compassion, but history is history, show it all. But I imagine that most of the younger generation aren’t interested in real history anyway, so they would see how really shocking war is. 🤔🥸
