Bischoff actually wanted to turn Heel earlier, but Hogan said no. Thunder was Ted Turner's idea. Bischoff couldn't say no. When Bischoff went to TBS, they said they didn't have the funds to spare for the show. So he had no choice. If you haven't watched it, Bre actually admits that Goldberg warned him about the kick & they show 2 angles. In the 2nd angle you can see Bret get his hand up to block the kick. Bret knew exactly what was going on.

good list. I would bump Russon up though. When Russon came in during Oct '99, WCW declined a lot but they still had a great roster of talent and needed to rebuild. Russo continued to burnout fans with his crash TV and he did a lot of other damage especially when he returned in April of 2000. He got wrestlers hurt with all the stunts, the flip flopping storylines made the wrestlers not care. He also only cared about ratings as he said. He ticked off a lot of advertisers and people supporting live shows. He didn't care about ticket sales and he said so in the documentary. He did help a few lower tier wrestlers get more screen time and it wasn't in great shape when he got the book. I just think that it could have still been salvaged even if they couldn't top WWF at the time

Something briefly mentioned was Ted Turner lost control of his Turner assets as the company grew due to mergers. Along with WCW, his other "toys" like the Braves and Hawks were also sold. Vince McMahon is smarter than that. He got close to ECW to kill it. He got to get close to their talent, and when TNN made the deal with ECW, Vince McMahon had TNN replace ECW with WWF Raw. Vince McMahon had people in the inside screwing WCW. WWF took top ECW talent, and use that fan base to help him beat WCW in the ratings. Every time ECW got a talent, & let them shine, Vince McMahon would snatch them. He took Austin, Foley & Lita from Paul Heyman. If Heyman had the Money he could've ruled wrestling. He just needed to make the adjustments the WWF and WCW were trying to do. Not like Vince Russo, if you watch the Documentary, he did lots of trash TV. And getting the Title right after Arguette had it, hurt the lineage of the WCW Titled even further.

Who Killed WCW, in my opinion, is probably one of Vice’s weakest docuseries. I might watch the Bash At The Beach DSOTR episode over Who Killed WCW. Nobody would ever listen to who killed the company. 4:40 Thats exactly why I never followed WCW. I heard of them and looked into it to see if it would be worth watching and when I heard a movie star was the world champion it put me off ever watching it

If it wasn't for Ted Turner WCW would have been on the chopping block YEARS before it was. The Execs couldnt throw WCW off the air because it was still Turners network. untill the merger
