Thank you so much for outing these real pressing themes. I live in germany in a little village and get visits from JW some times a year. Also I got to know more than 30 years ago a young couple who left the cult but where anxious to talk more about.. had hard time with JW-parents.. information and common sense is always the key to live your life FREE I think Your channel is so worthful, thanks again for your honest work ☆☆☆☆☆

Observing from a relatively close distance how people who’re entrapped into such cults live their lives is frustrating. Not so much because it is evidently inconceivable to de-programme individuals and families that cultivate their faith in delirious terms. The frustration comes from seeing the devout take religiously not simply their faith’s tenets, but all forms of mental manipulation, from the economy to politics. And this, I’m afraid, is or will be the basis of authoritarian systems and of dictatorships.

The conversation is highly polite and respectful of everyone involved. The digital world is dominant and easily accessible, video telephone and other communications’ are cheap and widespread, and multiculturalism is the subtext of a significant portion of contemporary life. As a result, cults and cult-like systems are everywhere, and their masters have set up a sophisticated criminal system, which is based on mind control, influence, conformism, manipulation, guilt, rites, blackmail and more (each system has an original recipe for insulating guru power and their selected élite’s privileges). This is a long-standing story. In the past century, these were the foundational pillars of military nationalism, of racism, of nazism, of Stalinism, of many alternative political movements and of emerging religions (whilst mainstay religions have elaborated systems of their own). Time has come to analyse contemporary history in the light of the data and the instruments that are nowadays become available to anyone, supposing they’re open minded.

Dr. Hassan I enjoy your content. Many years ago I began researching cults and cult behavior. It finally dawned on me that I was raised in a cult of just my family. My father was a presbyterian Minister and created a cult within our home based on his beliefs. He was passionate about his religion and pushed all of that off on us as children. It also didn't help that my mother was a narcissist and abused me sexually, emotionally and physically. I have complex PTSD and I'm 72 years old and back in therapy. 38 years ago I renounced religions of all kinds when I got sober. Best thing I ever did in my life however I do still have issues with triggers from other people and their behaviors.

I know a person who grew up in jehovahs witnesses that i used to be in a romantic relationship with. I could feel the effects of him having been raised under the assumption that the man was the head of the household, even though he probably wouldn't admit to holding this attitude. It was like, he expected me to go along with whatever he wanted, yet my wants and preferences were pretty much brushed off and overridden, not taken seriously. He seemed to think i had no right to express a desire for us to go do something fun together that i enjoyed. His reaction to my requests indicated that he believed that i was out of line for insisting that i get my way once in a while, like something was wrong with me for having any of my own desires, or wanted to pick whatever activity for the day for us to go do... Also, this person was very confused about his sexuality, in my opinion. He would claim to be a straight man, say he was not attracted to men, could never be in a relationship with a man, he wanted to be married to a woman... Yet... Almost everyday he would cross dress, watch gay porn for hours, he was active on gay hookup websites, and his favorite thing sexually was to have a D*** up his A**. ??? Oh, and when we had sex, it was almost always me with a strap on, or double ended dildo, basically i was in a lesbian relationship with a man ... Sorry about the TMI, but i personally would not consider any of what i just described as heterosexual behavior... Its sad to me that he has to be in such denial about who he really is, the unnecessary shame and guilt over his sexual orientation breaks my heart, all because of a lifetime of indoctrination that its wrong to be gay by the JWs. Its ok that hes gay, or at least bisexual leaning mostly towards gay! Makes me angry that jahovahs witnesses told him that is unacceptable and that hes a bad person for it. Hes not. Hes a good person who feels like a total sinner when he really shouldn't. Hes just gay, more than likely, and thats ok!

I'm an exJW (35 years in the cult) and I support Trump. Contrary to your observation, I don't care much for his "personality" but it is his POLICIES and putting America first, securing borders!

@allanu6416 the prices will keep rising for you and your Mexican neighbour alike while the rich and powerful laugh at you, you have more in common with homeless man and the drug dealer in the inner city than you ever will the people Trump is surrounded by and working for. All he's doing is jangling the keys of false promises in your face and making you despise others in the working class as a scape goat to blame when your life gets worse, so the ruling class can remain untouchable and living off all your work over the many years. But by all means, feel as superior as you like if it makes you feel better.

@@allanu6416 I guess I value all peoples of all countries. Sometimes certain people seem not great to put it mildly. But not necessarily from a particular race or country. Did not like stereotyping immigrant creating hatred and fear. Nor the separation of babies and children at the border. Great poet said no parent but their child on a boat unless the water is safer than the land. Within its borders, America has horrible people. Right now we have an oligarchy- rule of the wealthy with too much power. We could call it a kleptocracy . Middle class basically is disappearing. Without having to pay or wanting to pay taxes, other things will suffer. In Trumps business many times he did not pay contractors. Who had the wealth to defy their rights to justice?

@@allanu6416 loved and appreciated Jimmy Carters wisdom and principled actions and attitude toward all people. Very progressive about environmental concerns. America and corporations seem to tear away at a basic need to take care of this planet and its finite resources. My concerns always are about taking care of our environment, care and concern about the human race, and outstanding education so everyone can be the best version they can be.

The blood doctrine is found throughout the Bible with many citations. Leviticus says that the blood of a beast, bird, or fowl shall not be consumed, this is a law to the last generation. Moses in the desert, the people disdained the manna from heaven and wanted meat angering God. Serpents were sent into the camp and many died. Afterwards Jews to this day, soak meet in saltwater to dissolve blood. It is impossible to dissolve blood with saltwater. Christ's command that it is His metaphorical blood to be consumed (meaning the spiritual gifts) That's my interpretation. I believe it is a warning against eating meat, because there is no way to dissolve blood. There are many edicts regarding blood in the Bible. My mother was a Jehovah's Witness, and I a non-meat eater, nearly convinced her to not eat meat. She convinced me not to except a blood transfusion. They are however very cult-like.

What’s a cult? Everyone else’s religion.
@spikeoramathon3 сағат бұрын
It's not that it's a cult-a loaded word that gets oversimplified and misdefined-it's that it is abusive and authoritarian. Yes, there are ethical and beneficial groups-what people could call "good" cults-but what we're concerned with here is the level of abuse and control. People are free to believe as they wish, but an organization where people are under tight control and not able to live their best lives is a destructive and authoritarian cult.

It depends on the definition you are using. I faded from jw religion 40 years ago but I never felt it was a cult until recently. My mind changed mainly due to the difficulty many have when they choose to leave and also the governing body being more visible and synonymous with Jehovah.
