This is such a good topic. And something at times I still have some irrational thoughts around only eating when im hungry, but its just part of life... eating when your only hungry can sometimes feel like a rule. And can lead to feeling guilty if your not eating when your hungry. Its all about getting the balance. But also practical hunger what you talk about totally makes sense too, and again it takes away the food rules. Sometimes you need to eat when your not necessarily hungry to keep you going for the next meal if your not able to eat.

Yes! Would love to listen to you expand more about eating when you're not hungry with specific types of hunger! It’s a struggle for me because sometimes I just want to sit with my family and eat but just can't feel hungry that often. I'm recovering from bulimia and dieting and body dimorphism. Anyway thanks for the content you create it helps a lot! :)

This makes a LOT of sense to me. It's one of the reasons I make myself eat lunch by a certain time even if I'm not particularly hungry. It might be a lighter lunch, but I know that if I eat lunch too late, I either won't be hungry enough for dinner OR I'll end up eating one meal at a weird in-between time which will completely throw me off. The last thing I want is to be up at 2AM because instead of eating lunch at 2 and dinner at 8, I had one meal at 5pm. (I generally don't snack in between meals. My work schedule has never allowed it, so I've gotten used to eating 3 meals a day with the occasional "dessert" after dinner).

in a waste variety of information provided by people which call them ‘dietitians or ‘nutriotinists’ , I believe this should be the information that spreading across the Internet. There is so much misinformation on the social media on diet mentality that I would like tothank you for this content, showing that sustainable healthy living is possible and it doesnt opass across diet or not mentality.

That's called preventative eating. Not quite intuitive and leads to eating more than you actually need.

Mind blown...I get stuck in the too hungry; too full cycle!! I need to learn what my hunger cues are before I'm beyond HUNGRY!

Or if I go too long, I feel like I can’t actually eat enough at the next meal because my stomach goes into a kind of “nope, I’ve gone this long, I don’t want anything now”.

Years ago I had trained myself not to be hungry for dinner and so I wasn't. But as a result I had trouble staying asleep. My doctor had to yell at me to start eating dinner again.

Oh god I love dates and pecans. I must try that. I've just started on my intuitive eating journey after years of dieting. It's exciting and scary at the same time 🤣

Is it okay to fast before taking a flight? Motion sickness hits me pretty hard if I have a full meal beforehand.

Just found you! Love it!! Intuitive eating is new to me...I've tried keto (for epilepsy) the last two years and ended up over eating (didn't help with seizures)...gained weight!! Ugh! I'm 5'7" and 170 pounds - wish I was 150!! Do you think this can help?

Can you do a video on managing eating times with others? I like to eat early, my boyfriend likes to eat later. He intermittently fasts in the morning and I LOVE breakfast. But come dinner, I’m full from the day. How can we cook cool things together when I’m not hungry?

Actually, I think I just realized I like eating alone because I think it’s a way for me to either restrict or binge. And I think this might be a food rule I made.

A quick question- could eating when you're not hungry be part of gentle nutrition or would that be too similar to food rules? An example would be eating some extra vegetables even if you're not necessarily hungry or craving them. Would that be too much of a 'rule', even if it's done for health reasons?

what are your thoughts on mental vs physical hunger in ed recovery? What do I do if I can't tell if I'm hungry?

ED recovery is unique and it totally depends where you're at in terms of nourishing your body! I'd highly recommend working with a dietitian 1:1 for ED recovery!

I’m never hungry, ever. I suffer from Gastroparesis/slow stomach emptying, which is why I’m never hungry. Even just eating a couple of Baby bel cheeses makes me feel really full up. It’s a horrible feeling.

@@Snickerdoods.x Thank you for your reply. I really need to get in touch with my GP again & then see a consultant at my local hospital. I’ve had stomach problems for quite a few years now, as I had pyloric stenosis before this.
