SHOCKINGLY BAD SEAT Mii lights.Change them now!

After a review I did on the SEAT Mii EV it was highly rated by myself as an excellent Entry level EV….. I still think it’s a value motor with an excellent town and City presence.
HOWEVER…the front Headlights are BAD.. “Who’s BAD”……. SEATS HEADLIGHTS!!
GET THEM CHANGED NOW!

Up! Owner here, I also replaced the main headlamp bulbs on my 2012 High Up. I used Osram brand and was amazed by the increase in light output. It makes driving at night much safer. I also replaced the DLR bulbs with an Led alternative, which again are much brighter with a lower current draw. These lights have a built in circuitry to help fool the cars Canbus system. The best upgrade to date is replacing the reversing lights with high power LED’s. I share my driveway with an old Chapel (now converted to a dwelling) and it’s very limited in space when reversing in. These new reversing bulbs light up the whole driveway, making it so much easier to back in. Great videos - please keep them coming.

Led headlights should be standard fit now in 2024! My Mokka has the adaptive led and are just amazing beyond words! Wife has a transit custom wheelchair van and the lights were worse than candles and so dangerous at night. I used powerbulbs for the ring too and they made a huge difference. She now has a Mercedes sprinter again no led but a world above the Ford ones

In Denmark (EU law) you can install LED which is much brighter than halogen. 200% halogen wont last long, been there. LED's might fog the headlamp because they dont get nearly as hot. I now run Osram 150% and it's been a blessing during the dark winter mornings and they lasted quite a long time.

Just came across your channel and as a Hyundai Kona EV driver, its nice to see someone that doesn't bash EV's! As to the double filament on the sidelight bulb, maybe you can wire it into the main beam. as far as I'm concerned the more light on the front at main beam the better.🙂. I've now subscribed and you have inspired me to restart my KZbin channel if I can get around my terrible editing lol.

Ive got a 2016 seat Mii, had it for three years and been through 3 sets of upgraded halogen bulbs and have been back on standards for tje past six months. I can fully agree that the standard headlamp/bulb combination is pathetic, even dangerous. Ive just gone for an led upgrade as the brighter halogen bulbs just do not last.

100% agree. Possibly the worst I’ve owned but I have been spoilt with Tesla Matrix lights which are fantastic.

As an MOT testing station; we are failing cars almost on a daily basis due to incorrect headlamp dipped beam alignment due to DIY'ers and Halfords installing headlamp bulbs without checking the dipped beam alignment, the goverment regulations have become quite stringent over recent years on the allowed tolerance on vertical and horizontal beam angles; due to more powerful headlamps being fitted out of the factory, this is to stop incorrectly installed headlamp bulbs blinding other road users, I'm pretty sure your Seat will fail the MOT test on headlamp beam mis-alignment, inside the bulb there is a metal deflector plate which determines the angle the light beam leaves the bulb, the manufacturing process from brand to brand causes differences in the deflector position within the bulb. The bottom line is always have the headlamp alignment checked on a MOT approved headlamp alingment machine (not a brick wall) after bulb installation. A car will fail the MOT test if LED or high discharge bulbs are retrofitted due to the lack of a headlamp self-levelling system, vehicles with fitted with LED or high discharge headlamps out of the factory will have a headlamp self-levelling system fitted as standard. Sorry to drone on about this but the high level of MOT headlamp failures and 50% of the cars on the road blinding other road users is a problem, for the sake of £5-£10 please get your headlamp alignment checked.
