if you're wondering why the ending felt so shoehorned in, it's because it was. The game's director/writer literally saw some movie and decided "I want to make it about multiple universes and shit" Originally it was supposed to be more focused on Elizabeth and Booker and how their relationship develops throughout the game, Booker was supposed to be more likeable in the original, and choices were also supposed to have more impact before they threw all of that out for "muh different realities"

Could've been one of been a contender for the top in the franchise. The writer ruined everything. That ending really just came out of left field for no fucking reason, I was following the story just fine until then. It's saddening because this game is both beautiful and fun to play, they just botched the one important part.
