Watching this reminds me, how much Kawasaki didn't think it through on the Teryx4 KRT800 or the 750. Damn near gotta take the whole right side of the interior apart! Done a few in the field, and several in the shop.

Do you clean your sheaths with a scotch brite pad when a belt blows a leaves heavy marks. I also was losing belts due to the belt was about a 1/4” lower than the top of the secondary. We put the 17’ big washer replacement for the main bolt of the secondary. Now it’s flush and 1k on my bad ass dune belt. Every ride when we get back to camp we use compressor air and blow out the clutch. I don’t use a cover.

I have a 2016 RZR XP1000. Just bought a spare Polaris part# 3211180 belt to carry in my repair kit. Haven't blown the original yet. I can't find a direction arrow on this. Any suggestions on how to install this in correct direction?
@shocktherapy48202 жыл бұрын
When installed you should be able to read the Polaris letters corrrctly.

Some years ago Audi had the "Multitronic" transmission, that was a sort of CVT but driven by chains, not by a belt. The chains came with lifetime warranty! The Multitronic was said to be far more reliable than a belt

Learning some good info from u guys, im undecided here on a car, Can Am X3 XDS RR or Poo Pro XP Ultimate? I won't get the Premium cause I HATE walker Evans shocks. Worst shocks I've dealt with on snowmobiles

I just bought a ProXP Ultimate! Amazing ride! I have 35's to mount, what would you recommend for clutching. I would like to split the primary sheave, pull it out, add correct weights/spring and swap that out when I swap tires... any suggestions regarding clutching?

Best thing I can recommend is Dyno Jet for a clutch kit. They have it dialed in

This is so helpful - thanks much for sharing all your knowledge! Your videos give me the confidence I need as a new 2021X3 RS owner to go out and ride and not over-stress about being able to perform an on-the-fly belt change or other needed maintenance. I will definitely be bringing my machine in for your springs and SmartShox tuning.

900xp- 30" tires/ Got the ST spring kit. Do I add the 3" to my ride height since I'm 3" higher than standard
@ShockTherapyllc4 жыл бұрын
For every extra inch of tire height you need to add 1/2” of ride height.

That tool is clutch and I find it easiest to thread on by spinning the secondary instead of turning the tool

What do you recommend for coil spring compression for us DIYers that dont have the the really nice stand up units like shown in your videos? Most of the coil springs compressors out there are meant for wider spaced coils find on cars and trucks which dont fit real well on utv coils. I saw a sxsblog video where there used some sort of compressor that used flat discs to compress the spring but wondered what you guys recommend. Thanks
@ShockTherapyllc4 жыл бұрын
That’s a tough one. The threaded style that uses hooks on each end and use two threaded rods. One on each side of the coil maybe? We used to use a big ratchet strap. Trimmed the hook to fit the coil. Grab one side, wrap under the vice and up the other side to compress them. After a couple holes were put into the ceiling by springs we invested in the nice compressors.

Looks like KWI specializes in Can-Am clutching. Can you recommend someone for Polaris clutching?

They do Polaris too. Just call them. Dynojet or Air dam would be two others

Hey Justin, as usual great info. I'm going a bit off topic but have to ask. If I go with your IQS (hope I got that right) on my 2019 X3 xrc turbo R. Does it compensate for compression and rebound and is it comparable to the 2021 x3 smart shock system. I'm really trying to figure out if just the IQS would be enough on my car without having you tune them. AKA most bang for the buck! Thank you in advance.
@ShockTherapyllc4 жыл бұрын
Great question. The IQs does not change how the shocks act or react. It nearly turns the compression from all the way soft to mid stiff to full stiff as you choose. The ride quality is the same if the shocks are not tuned. Smart shocks do the same sting but control rebound as well and are computer controlled according to sensor inputs. Smart shocks is a better system than IQS. But. There is always a but. The new smart shock system is quite stiff. If we tune a 2020 it will ride way better than smart shocks. You just don’t have the adjustments on the dash. If we tuned smart shocks it would ride amazing and have electronic adjustability. Remember just because it’s IQS or Smart doesn’t mean the ride quality is killer. It just means the stock ride quality is now electronically adjustable.
@raymondmcdonald70854 жыл бұрын
@@ShockTherapyllc Thank you for the detailed explanation. So, if I was to have the IQS installed and the shocks tuned by you do I send the shocks to you or do you need the entire car? Saying I ride just one way is inaccurate. Sometimes desert. Sometimes sand. Sometimes slow and putting in the rocks. Sometimes aggressive. Sometimes cruising. I know you can't have the best of all worlds all the time but do you have a formula for shock set up for what I described? Thanks (P.S.) I really enjoy your videos and learn something everytime. I'm 62 and been riding since I was 5 so I think that says something! 😁
@ShockTherapyllc4 жыл бұрын
Raymond McDonald you are very kind. Thank you. We do the same thing as you do with respect to riding. All encompassing. We have a set up that is perfect for you since it’s perfect fir us too👍. You can send the shocks only. We do this every day. Only thing you will do is set the ride heights and go. Have a killer weekend.
@raymondmcdonald70854 жыл бұрын
@@ShockTherapyllc Great! So just for clarification; I send the shocks to you. You guys do your thing. I get them back, they are tuned and have the IQS system integrated on the shocks. I set the ride height based on the info I receive from you. Correct?
@ShockTherapyllc4 жыл бұрын
Raymond McDonald that’s it sir. You will have one more thing. With IQs you will run the wire loom for it and mount the computer. We have full instructions and it is actually very easy. Just a heads up. Btw we do about ten sets of shocks a day that comes in the mail from all over the world. It’s very common and actually easy.
