Remember reading this over a decade ago. Should had followed up on what happened to the Dynobot's ship SkyFire. It didn't crash or was someone left inside it like Skarr or it hid on the darkside of the moon. Could it be the reason that the Ark left Cybertron since initial sensor readings of Earth by the SkyFire eventually reached Cybertron. It's likely Grimlock or one of the Dynobots sent a signal to the SkyFire to target ShockWave but also send a transmission of their location to Iacon so that someone will go to Earth and recover them from being in stasis lock. Optimus' decided to follow up on the Dynobots knowing that the world they've gone to had a high amount of energon crystals that they can use to repower Cybertron. The same with Megatron intercepting the SkyFire's transmission to Cybertron and following the Ark as it left Cybertron to harvest the Energon on Earth. So it could be a temporal paradox just like the Beast Wars, their Transwarp emergence resulted in travelling back in time to over some millions of years ago before Shockwave and Grimlock had initially arrived on Earth. This pre-destination temporal paradox is that both the Ark&Nemesis crashed on Earth and Energon leaked on the surrounding area's lava diluting it the surrounding area. That Energon contamination of the lava is like electricity's effect on water and actually modified the lava's dissolved molten materials for forming natural crystals to become Energon crystals which then attracts Shockwave's attention to start his experiment on Earth.
