As far as these Beats Wars Characters thay doesn't get explained but I have a strong idea how they did that. I‘ll address it in the next video. As far as the show the modern day creatures were already there and the fossils for the dinosaurs were already there as well. I chalk it up to the Vok experiments lol doesn't make sense

Early installment weirdness. Originally it was going to be an alien world but they got in contact with some Transformers fans whom inspired the writers to change the plot into what we know now. Also the toys were already made so...

beast wars takes place on earth after the ark crash landed so Less than 4 million years in the past, likely only something like 1.5 to 1 million years ago, and you would be surprised how many animals already looked like a lot like species we have today back then,

I'm with you dude, I only watch until the end of Zeo, because everything after Zeo is SOOOOO bad. I tried with "In Space" I did.... But the costumes are bad, and the characters are very one dimensional. Things only got worse with Lost Galaxy and their Charlie Brown Uniforms.
