@@johnsayles8032 o think all of America could be revived if House had the military might of the brotherhood, the tech of the institute, Arcade Gannon and his people as advisors, and the man power of the NCR. @johnsayles8032 Жыл бұрын
@@IsaacClodfelter yeah but house doesn't trust people or value any opinion that isn't his own. Like bumping off the Kings if they make peace with NCR even though his plan was "peace with the NCR" and said peace was brokered by their right hand man/henchwoman. And what's more the reasons why everyone doesn't come together in one big happy tech family is the same reason there's a wasteland in the first place. People want things, whether it's what they got, what the other guy has, or some greater ideal. Those concepts bump, and out come the weapons. Peace between people is possible and takes a ridiculous amount of work, but it's only possible when things aren't live or die on nearly every decision.

"To provide a safe haven from the ravages of war for humanity to survive in." Me: laughs in inhumane experiments
@acrefray4 жыл бұрын
Just an FYI: for Vault 11, the purpose of the Overseer (by vault-tec) wasn't to die, but that was chosen by the residents because only the first overseer knew about it, and by the time they told the rest of the vault, the vault dwellers chose the overseer, and so the two decisions became conflated. (It's also heavily implied in the audio recording that one person got out after shooting the others)
@Monsuco4 жыл бұрын
Vault 76 was an experiment to determine the willingness of residents to withstand buggy code, always on microphones and micro-transactions. Like most vault experiments, it was extremely cruel and inhumane and ended in failure.

SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!
@allenholloway51095 жыл бұрын
You're a bit wrong about Vault 11. Overseers still ran things. In fact, the position of Overseer wasn't a sacrifice at the beginning of everything. But the first overseer, when they confronted the residents with the "necessity" of a sacrifice, they all immediately chose the Overseer as that sacrifice, and it became a tradition to sacrifice the Overseer and use the election as a method to choose both sacrifice and replacement. In fact, a big catalyst in that story is when one of the elected sacrifice overseers, Kate, if I remember correctly, changed the system with her authority to be a computer selected vote, and do away with the increasingly corrupt elections. This started a rebellion with the most powerful political party at the time, and led to them finally discovering the truth - that no one had to be sacrificed.

Ok so this is pretty cool seeing a quasi-return to form with these lore videos. If this is gonna be the thing now, here’s my opinion on it: 1) Incorporating more Fallout music (ost, not radio) would prolly tickle everyone’s fancy. 2) This is entirely my interpretation, but the Storyteller kinda comes off as... sarcastic? No hate or anything, I love the voice actor they got, but his delivery in this vid was a little more enthusiastic with certain phrases. Again, that’s just how I heard it. 3) Keep. The. Still. Frames. It’s nostalgic as all get-out and I love it. Thats just all my take/opinion. Im glad Shoddycast is making a comeback.

The closest video game analogy to Vault 75 would be Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, or at least comes as close as possible to the experiment done there. I believe the child you save in Africa, Eli, who took the Sahlanthropus (misspelled likely) with some of the other child soldiers rose up and fought snake or one of his clones in a later game in the timeline of MGS is similar to what happened in Vault 75, one of the children bred for war in the vault caught on to what was going on and led an uprising against the Vault tec scientists and security and eventually became the Gunners. At least as far as the uprising goes.

And after the latest videos giving no transparency to fans about what's really going on behind the scenes and broken promises with Patreon. It left me feeling disappointed at the direction of this channel. Even if it comes back what kind of videos are you gonna make? If it's hard making videos the who are the other people work with you?
