Top Dolla is the most indirect “fuck around and find out” of 2021. Goes from implying the Young Bucks are disingenuous sneaker-heads, earning himself clout with the “bad-faith actors” side of the IWC, to being released by the WWE, knowing damn well all those anti-AEW d**k-riders won’t dedicate a millisecond of their time watching him in ANY promotion that doesn’t have a WWE watermark on the screen. Meanwhile the Bucks are going sneaker shopping on Complex, continuing to be one of the best tag teams in North America. A lot of people hate AEW & it’s talent, but I’d bet my last dollar that if the promotion WAS NOT actively good about 75-80% of the time, they wouldn’t hate as much. When an episode of Dynamite/Rampage is a 6-7 outta 10, it sticks out like a sore thumb. When an episode of RAW, Smackdown, or NXT 2.0 is anything above a 5, it’s effusively praised as a return to form, because the bar is extremely low on that end of things.
