This shoe cleaning is done by Francisco. He is 48 years old and has been a shoe shiner in Mexico City for 24 years.
Francisco's shoe shine chair is located in the beautiful park of Santa María la Ribera. The Park is always full of activity: people walking their dogs, dancing, or even reading a book, etc. Many people visit the very famous kiosk/gazebo called Kiosco Morisco to observe and take pictures of the unique structure.
My Black Leather Dr. Martens Boots looked so dirty and the soles are broken. Francisco took the laces off and carefully painted the leather. I was so surprised by this shoe transformation.

Doc Marten boots have cheap, thin leather, no shank, and are overall made fairly poorly. That being said, Don Francisco made them look like new! He's a master.

Doc martens soles are heated don't know if they will use glue to stick or not soles are not sewn on ( welted) I have two pairs but I don't wear them as much I've had them for a while but they haven't split yet nice shine

Hi! I think that's a cultural aspect. I see shoe shining as a profession that is still common in Mexico and it's starting to disappear. Since I film the videos and try to show the work, I wear them so it's easy and shows the full experience. Then I carried out interviews to the shoe shiners. I do this with respect.

@@ShoeShinewithKat No problem at all, I see there are some easy tutorial on youtube. Like myself I wore my docs for over a year before I was told I had mine tied the wrong way. Also don't use white laces with your docs, white laces with docs are a racist thing. Banger video by the way.
