Nice to see both of them in an interview! I do not think Lou doesn't know what to say, but Lou looks a bit dejected, but he's still an amazing singer. It would be great both of them get more awards, because this music is real music if you ask me. They can be very proud of themselves and I think that's also so!

I'd like to ask Mick Jones why he markets present day Foreigner with Lou Gramms vocals. Foreigner today is a cover band with one original member who barely ever tours with them. Mick Jones needs to make things right before he passes away
@waltersimmons9463 жыл бұрын
Because he can't afford to appear blowing off Lous fans, by soley using Kelly to market Foreigner. Kelly is not the first to replace Lou, I still like Johnny Edwards who actually sounds more like Lou than Kelly, but there are many Lou fans that still refuse to accept Kelly as the current singer, Johnny Edwards went through the same situation in 1991 , so no matter who fronts Foreigner, if it isn't Lou, Mick who's about money, has to really walk on a thin high wire, to almost please each section of the fanbase. Not a position I'd want to be in.

These guys made some great music over the years. It sucks that Lou had his health problems. But, I have to give the guy credit for fighting his way through them. He's sounding really good these days. It's pretty darn incredible really considering his age and what he's been through. Just goes to show you the true professional he is. As for everyone badmouthing Mick and Kelly, get over it. Kelly does an outstanding job. And let's face it, not an easy job to do. Trying to keep the integrity of those songs intact when you are not the original singer ain't easy. The guy has balls to even attempt it and he does a damn good job of it. Hats off to Mick for keeping the band alive all of these years. It could have very easily been another page in the history books. sure, the naysayers will say that it's not Foreigner without the original guys. But, name one band from the 1970's that still has the original line up. I can't think of one.

Mick always dodges the fact that his substance use (particularly the fact that it ruined the tour with the Prague Symphony Orchestra) was what finally drove Lou out of the band for good. I like some of the songs from the recent Foreigner album with Kelly Hansen, but I think re-recording the greatest hits (just like when Journey did it with Arnel Pindela) is where the disrespect lies. Not that I think Mick is Satan, but there are some issues he needs to address.
@waltersimmons9463 жыл бұрын
@@sandizanotti4765 Lou was not a drug free singer in his prime, before 1991 he went to rehab quite a few times over the years then he'd relapse, when he left Foreigner in1990 , it was the next year, out of fear of dying from his bad habits, he prayed to God for help, and spent 30 days at Hazeldon clinic in Minnesota, the difference is that this time, stead of just detoxifying his body, Hazeldon, helped him address "WHY" he was doing drugs 1. Deadline pressure to get songs done 2. Coccain to stay hyper and awake 3. Mick Jones, who introduced him to these substances.(Lou quit again in 2003, because of Micks alcoholism, and creative issues with him again). But when Lou was at the clinic, it was then he became a born again Christian and he managed to really stay sober( though it wasnt easy), for almost 30 years, he is a good man.
