agree completely lol ! im never enchanted with recaps Also, it is possible to reroll for retainers, as well as agent success. Everytime you engage in battle, it rerolls. If you have an army besieging an enemy settlement, simply clicking the attack and then continuing siege will reroll the outcomes. I admit I've only ever done this for agent success personally, but I've seen it done for retainers on youtube.

I noticed you are doing the movement bug wrong. (From memory) Have one unit in your stack with no movement left, then move all units but one that has movement one space. With the army with the unit with no movement, select another unit that has movement, and alt-right click on the unit you left behind to bring up the unit swap menu. Get that unit into your army, and you will NEVER use movement points moving around using that method (only way you lose movement points is through attacking settlements).

I noticed that too! The alt-right click method does take forever in comparison with this, though. It also doesn't work with ships, and the one Legend is using does.

Like Phelan Lawson said. It's for historical accuracy purpose. But what i found really fun is that, it's important for general bodyguard to wear those but not the general himself, which is arguably the most important one in the army, lol.

Though I know you may already be nearing your conclusion, one thing I learned from Volound's playthroughs is that with a siege, the army will not move, if the main general does not. Or at least archers won't.

Legend, you can re-roll your retainers by besieging settlements and then continuing the siege. Every time you click on the settlement to do the battle, the game freezes up a little bit and loads a new random seed. So if you have an army ready to autoresolve and another one besieging a settlement you can keep "continuing" the siege and autoresolving with your other army rerolling retainers every time.

I think Volound found out that you can re-roll the RNG with sieges because it saves over at that point: every time you click attack then continue siege while besieging on the campaign map it re-rolls. But I think the re-rolls are "fixed", so that if you load a save file, do that technique 3 times, then reload the original save and do that 3 times again you'll be on the same seed in each instance

You mentioned scaling the walls but as I'm sure you've already remembered, Yari Ashigaru can burn gates down. They pull flaming bows out of their asses (even if you haven't researched flaming shots yet) and launch a volley that will set any gate on fire.

That would leave the settlement as damaged on the campaign map so all the bonuses it gives would go to shit. I assume that is the reason why he won't do it this way.

Love the campaign Legend....keep up the good work...cannot wait for the promised Rome II blitz....have you checked out Volund's takeda/ottomo/hattori campaign, lots to learn on re-rolling items for generals and min-maxing....?

The only "Reroll" I know for Retainers are this, If you know you will get the ones you got this game. Go back to a save where you have not checked your options. and click it in a new province.

The current state of total war is depressing. As a concept, it's an incredible idea. I just haven't seen a good idea so badly executed. They've been pushing the strategy-lite or arcade strategy agenda for a while, but the warhammer title took it to an extreme. I barely play tw anymore. It's disheartening, really, but it is what it is.

Plenty to experience in the earlier games. The last TW I supported is Shogun 2. However, the DLC model of Shogun 2 was the beginning of the end of TW. (Opens Med 2 files and unlocks all factions the enjoyable way.)

"Oh they dismounted, thats different" The AI is not exacly the strongest part of Shogun2. Its pretty much braindead, making weird choices and sending units 1 by 1 to die. It got considerably better in later tw-games.

I want a total war that allows me to take a small bad settlement, that is literally 100 square m of sand and turn it into a glorious city, provided I have a lot of resources. Aztecs did it. I see no reason this tiny island can have only 2 build slots. I can throw 20k to make a new one.

You can re-roll retainers of you use the save exploit. Load the game and re-engage the battle (a new instace is made) now a new set of retainers will appear. A bitch to do in legendary tho..

best is if you are beseiging an enemy and can autoresolve. The fact that it autosaves each time actually makes it easier to do.

I think if you load from a file then engage like that it changes the seed by the exact same amount every time, even though it's getting saved over each time. So the retainers will be the same every time, as Legend saw in this video. But as +1001themaster said you can do it with sieges as you can save over the same file multiple times.
