If there's one pitcher the 2022 WS champions Astros the least wanna face, it would be Ohtani. He pitched against the Astros in 5 games, the Angels won 4 of them and Ohtani never gave up more than 1 run in any of the 5 games. The Astros' team batting avg, obp and ops against Ohtani in 2022 are 0.196, 0.239 and 0.491.

I Agree, but the sad part is next season there will be another player or a bunch of players that's gonna hit alot of home runs and fans are gonna try and make a case for their mvp like they did for judge, what judge did has been done by 18 players in the last 25 years alone, hit over 50 to 60 home runs, but what Ohtani has done no one has dominated Pitching and Hitting since only one player Babe Ruth a hundred years ago ⚾️

@@brendonbuffaloe8830 Did you read about research report that in 2022 Yankees was using three different kinds of baseballs in their games: The Flying baseballs manufactured by Yankees, the less flying baseballs, and the Non-flying official baseballs?! This report was helped by some MLB pitchers in other teams. The pitchers collected the baseballs after playing games against Yankees and passed to the research institute. The Flying baseballs were mostly used, especially in Yankees stadium. That's why Judge and his teammates were able to have far more HR than other teams like Angels which has been using the Non-flying official baseballs only! This also explained why Judge and his teammates were unable to make hardly any hits during 2022 playoffs. That meant Judge would have far less HR without the Flying baseballs and Shohei would have to be MVP of 2022 instead! However, MLB refused to investigate in this case because afraid of scandal for Yankees would hurt the MLB in total even MLB knew the using of Flying baseballs from Yankees!

As an Angels fan, I don't want to see him in the WBC, and risk injury. His work load is too heavy as it is, and he has nothing to prove in the WBC. If Ohtani is not the MVP of this season, there is no hope for the future of the other 2-way players. How will they stay motivated if they find out that they will not be given any awards or honors for doing something harder than anyone else at this level? Since few players can continue to work hard without greed like Ohtani, they will probably focus on one or the other and try to achieve better results. I feel that MLB and the media have closed the door that Ohtani opened.
