I think that this concept of audio devices are perfect for the blind and visually impaired. Since they need to be able to hear what's going on around when out and about in the world. I have seen the Gen 1 version being used by a blind girl while she was waiting to cross the street at a crosswalk here in Colorado Springs and just another lady holding them in her hand while at Wally World. They both said that work pretty good and sound pretty good as well. I would love to try a pair just to see for myself. Great video I look forward to more of your reactions to tech products.

Very good point, Alex. As it is, true bone conduction tech IS used in the deaf and hard-of-hearing community. Thanks for watching and hope to keep having you back here at GearUP 😁
@alexflores76522 жыл бұрын
@@gearupaaron Yeah there are hearing aids that use bone conduction instead of going through the cochlea. It uses the same technique of a transducer implanted in the skull near the mastoid process or the cochlea. Sure I am a lover of all things tech, it drives my wife nuts on how much research I do on a product that I want to invest in for my usage.

Great review Aaron. As an almost daily runner, I swear by this open bone conduction headset while running. I used to watch a lot of earbud reviews and bought quite a few of them to use while running. But after using Aftershockz Titanium, I stop caring for the earbuds. This is my running daily driver. Like you said, if this thing is a bit cheaper.... I stick with the Titanium for now.

It's also a bummer that Shokz don't go on sale very often. Thanks for watching, btw! Please help share this channel with people you know (who like tech) 🙏

Very good review. My ear to ear measurement is 8 3/4". Im thinking the OpenRun Mini might work best for me, with your comments about the Pro sticking out behind my head. I wear a lot of hoodies and winter scarves and hats. Comments???? Thanks
@gearupaaron2 жыл бұрын
Hi Alexander, happy you enjoyed this video! If you go with the Mini, the bass might not be as strong, so bear that in mind. I also did the Livall LTS21 last week, if you like some kinda alternative 😁
@starlights5010 ай бұрын
I think the mini will fit more folks than the standard size. I thought I had a relatively large head, but the mini was definitely more suited to me. I don't believe there will be a significant difference in sound. My head also preferred the sound of the G7 if found on EB...

Does the multi pairing work at the same time from both phones for Open Run Pro? I have the Aeropex. But it didn't work if the two mobile phones screen are open. I need to turn off the screen of one phone to hear the sounds playing from my other phone. But it is connect at the same time, I'll just need to turn off the screen on the other phone to work properly.Not like in my Plantronics Voyager both phone's Bluetooth are working same time even the two phone are open screen.

Hi Marlon, sorry I just saw your question... Multipoint should work on the Aeropex; on the ORP it works seamlessly transitioning between the devices.

Thanks for the review. I was tempted to return my Bose for these until you mentioned proprietary charging. The Bose have those too and I hate it. Might still return it and wait for your jabra reviews. I’m in the market for workout earphones.

What do you hate about Bose's proprietary charging cable?
@vanceyan44992 жыл бұрын
@@gearupaaron it’s a proprietary charging dock, instead of a cable. And it charges the headphones instead of a case, so you cannot even charge this thing on the go, unless you bring the dock with you to the office or something.

Charging ports can be moisture protected, it's just a matter of standardizing.
@theripper1212 жыл бұрын
@@gearupaaron I'm sure that design compromise is an effort to keep the moisture resistance and not add weight or more importantly size in trying to waterproof an usb port.

Hello Aaron, thanks for the great review. I had two questions if you wver get a chance to respond. 1. When on, would you be able to comfortably rest your head against a pillow whilst sleeping without them fiddling arround or moving out of the right spot. I isually take calls or watch movies whilst lying down on my bed and i was wondering if the back piece kind of gets in the way. Question two is about whether it supports “hey siri” controls.
@gearupaaron2 жыл бұрын
Hi Mo, sorry about the belated reply - I've been on holiday 😁 To answer your Qs - this is definitely not meant for sleeping and yes, it can be set up with your default voice assistant like Siri. Thanks for watching and hope you could subscribe and share GearUP with your friends and family 🍻

90% of the time I use them on bed or sofa since I’m a big fan of listening podcast, music and sports. By the way I use them at bed when going to sleep listening “rain sounds” at Spotify until I’m gone…I move the band up when laying over my head

I am a blind person who uses bone conduction headphones to protect my hearing. SHOKZ completely missed the mark with these. The Aeropex, now called open run, have A flat and accurate sound, while these are bass heavy. Vocalists and instruments get over taken by the lower frequencies. I listen to house and dance music, and the extra bass is not a good thing. I'll be returning these.
@gearupaaron2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing, Micah! Did the ORP ever vibrate your temple too much whenever bass hits?
@micahgrauel87702 жыл бұрын
@@gearupaaron To answer your question, not really. However, I use bone conduction as my primary way of listening to music. The regular Open run have a flat and accurate sound when your ears are blocked, while these are bass heavy. That's why I'm returning them.
@edkeler2 жыл бұрын
not a word about the sound quality... the bass is no good (vibration), not something to use for enjoying your favorite music tunes (as compare to Bose set of the similar technology) . Bose has some serious design issues though... I cannot find a good bone conduction set on the market yet (I have latest Schoz Pro and it's a temp solution). I really do not care about the price... I need the sound quality of the Bose and the bridge of the Shokz - perfect set. I tried others, like Philips $129 - no, not there... Bose needs to add adjustable length bridge - that's it. Also, the review not covering multi device switching - Shokz... with 5.1 BT not supporting SMART BT device switching - shame!
