I’m 24 and I have tinnitus in both ears as well. This is actually the reason I am switching to this brand. I ordered them earlier today. I’m also a runner and will most likely only use them for running but I usually run with one ear bud in and I need to have my music fully cranked to hear anything and I know that’s so bad for my hearing

I'm a drywaller/ painter and trail runner. I've worn those for about 5 years at work and trail. Love them. And, if I'm working in a really loud environment (power drills, hammering etc) , I put ear plugs in. Then I can turn the volume way down. Love them

I've been using the Aeropex (now OpenRun) for two years now and absolutely love them, they are one of the best pieces of running kit I own. I love, love, love, love these headphones. I had the Trekz Titanium for 5-6 years and finally they developed a crack near the ear that was a bit painful. I picked up the Aeropex and they are so much more comfortable than even the old Titanium. The battery lasts what seems like FOREVER. I love that I can still hear traffic while running. I even wear them while doing chores around the house.

I've had the same experience. I've worn them daily for at least 5 - 6 years, starting, as you, with the Titanium. I've had 4 pair. 1 lost, One broken , as yours' but still works and my back-up. I've demo'd them more times than I can count. Shocx probably owes me commission. ;) Love them.

They have a miracle fast charge. Get home with them at 0%, charge for 15 minutes and I’m good to go until I go to bed 4 hours later.

i agree with your comparison with other headphones. i’m audiophile myself having iems, true wireless earbuds, and headphones. but i’d still use shokz for my bicycle riding. 100% comfortably safe while on the road

I've had mine since Christmas 2021, a gift from my husband. Took a few days. First had a foreign language. Took a few days to find English. I've had them attached to my phone and tablet. Just got a new phone. Could not remember how to pair them. Found your video. The best one I found. Only took a few minutes.

This technology has been around for a while. I climbed the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 2000; the group climbs single file while attached to rail. Therefore, so everyone could hear the tour guide, we had these same head phones. I found it so intriguing at the time, I’m surprised they’re not more common. Thanks for this review LT🙏

Great review. Used the Aeropex for several months. Used to always use in ear but due to sweating heavily when exercising I had problems with ear infections. Moving to these I’ve had no more issues. Used to want to block out all external sounds but this is a small compromise to stop having the ear issues.

Same reason why I am considering these, and researching "bone induction" types of earbuds. I am getting over my first ever ear infection as an adult (50s here), and never had one before. I attribute it now to my in-the-ear earbuds (which I struggled to remember to disinfect regularly)... so I am excited to try these instead!

Hi Laura - Thank You! I've watched many great reviews on the OpenRun headphones but I find your video to be most useful and realistic. I bought these headphones and I they quickly became my favorite for active use and extended wear time. At one time, I forgot I had them on. My only adjustment was accepting the absence of bass response which is fine because the range of sound is amazing otherwise. Many thanks again and all the best.

That's cool! I am deaf in the left ear and my inner ear bones were replaced in '02. Then they shifted and I haven't heard since. I have a cheap pair just now and can almost make out some music with them. It's exciting to have that much. I like this KZbinr, who made the video.

Being only half deaf in one ear and total in the other most of my life, I can have a good taste of the life changing experience and contrast that must have been for you and many others. I find it fascinating to think about. Like if I read it in a book and try to imagine how to describe it. It makes me think in a way I enjoy. I'm getting them and look forward to the difference of my current cheap ones and the premium brand.

Wow I never considered this. I’m half deaf in one ear and stereo mixes always bugged me, drums and bass in my good ear while guitar was in my bad ear. Can’t wait to try.

Great review. I've had these for about five years and just got a second pair so I never have to worry about a charge. 13+ hours per charge is 5 more hours than specs which is nice. P.S. work great for drowning out noise with putting a pillow or covers over your ears, comfortable, if you happen to have noisy roomates, and need to sleep for night shift, etc...

Meant to ask, did you look at the Mini? Although I normally take a Large (or XL!) size hat, the measurement from ear to ear as per the size guide was just under 9 inches, so it seems the Mini would fit me better ... I was just wondering, as you commented that your head is small. ;-)

I agree completely with this review. The only downside I found was that it is opposite of noise canceling. Excellent for my road bike rides (gives full awareness of the environment) but completely useless in a noisy environment

Listening in the office and other social settings is also ideal, you can make your own personal life soundtrack. When I am at home, I have a pair of autistic reference headphones.

Wonderful review. This is exactly the way I would love to see products presented more often. It could be so teasing to be honest. I tried several in ear and on ear headphones for running and cycling. For cycling I use them to listen to the notifications of the nav system on bike packing trips. But I always feel isolated from the environment and it akes to use them for hours. So this sounds like a solution and the are on my wish list. Always a pleasure to hear you talking.

I've had these for about a day and while I'm very impressed with the water resistance and build quality, I will say to temper your expectations with audio quality. Bone conduction headphones still have a long way to go with audio quality especially compared to various other earbuds/headphones; however I'm quite impressed with other aspects of these if you have spefic needs for headphones. Biggest plus is being able to hear your surroundings easily while listening to whatever music/podcast you have playing. That and the build quality feels rather durable. I say these are perfect for anyone with an active lifestyle like jogging or bike riding, or people with weird ears like me that can't wear earbuds without plug-like ear tips.

You get used to it, in terms of feeling low frequency bass through your skin and not your ears. The pros defeat the cons for me. I have a serious pair of reference headphones when I’m at home, but Shokz gets me through life. Apple AirPods over this, pathetic. I spot on their cheap, consumable products.

Love your presentation style, lack of waffle and attention to detail. Can see why you have so many subs. I believe the proprietary cable is also to stop water ingress which would happen via USB C. I love my Shockz, i have the Aeropex which came with two cables (shame they stopped that) but the fast charge looks great.

The OpenRun headphones work great for me while practicing oudoors sports and at the gym. Confortable tu use, they stay in place around my head and ears. I just enjoy the music and feel safe while riding my bycicle, running or in my kayak.

I also have tinnitus in both ears and the shokz have come in real handy. I wear a set of OpenMoves at night when I sleep with rain sound, because the tinnitus will wake me up in the middle of the night. I use a set of OpenRun Pros during the day when I'm at home or driving for music or podcast or audible. I also sent a set of OpenMove to my Sister because she was having trouble sleeping. She's is enjoying better sleep. The only problem that I have with the openmove is that they stopped working after a year. I got another set and they stopped after a week. Then I found out that I was not supposed to use my macbook charger to charge them. I started using my laptop's usbc port and I haven't had that problem with the third set of openmoves so far. I always keep two sets just in case.

Yeah these are fantastic. I use them when cycling can feel very confident that I'm not myself in jeopardy although I would recommend sticking with audio books or podcasts rather than music since sometimes the music can sometimes blend with the sounds of the road.

Have just bought a set of openrun and am impressed. They seem to get louder if you put those rolling type in ear plugs so might actually be ok on flights with lots of background noise. Yet to test this though.

Thank you. The proprietary cable is a deal breaker for me. I have boxes of cables and do not need more. Plus I hate to carry multiple cables when I travel. Also the moisture tone seems to add a feature that only adds cost.

I have just bought a pair. Really looking forward to my first run in them. I have a bit of tinnitus and thought the same. Sound quality is a step down from my in ear sports headphones, but I think the benefits will outweigh any sound issues.

I am a lorry driver and have used the titanium ones for several years (on my second pair,as I broke the first ones) and they are perfect other than comfort, I normally use a plantronics that have a boom mike, but I have found wearing them for 13 to 15 hrs a day causes vertigo as my left ear is permanently blocked useing it. So I have now ordered a new pair of opentun shokz because as much as I love the titanium they become very uncomfortable on the ears after several hours and I have tried a friends open run and the fit was far more comfortable. If I want to block out all the noise on a train or somewhere I just use expanding earplugs. I may in the future buy the ones with the boom mike but for now the form factor and the waterproof rating is better for me in my job as I tend to be in the rain as much as I am in the lorry, the joys of living in the uk.
