@@myreviews8099 She has credits in television, film and for other artist such as Carrie Underwood's #2 Hit "Don't Forget to Remember Me". I always thought it was hilarious that Chris was to shy to ask her out so he would ask her to write songs with him on Friday nights to have an excuse to spend time with her (while Morgane was constantly dropping hints that stopped just short of hitting him upside the head with a baseball bat).

After Chris & Justin T. sang together on the CMA awards they released a song together called “Say Something “. Those 2 play off each other so well you can tell they like working together. Check that one out also.

Gotta check out Chris Stapleton & Justin Timberlake live @ the CMA awards. It was “Tennessee Whiskey” & “Drink you away”. Those 2 put on an absolutely outstanding performance together. They jumped in & sang each others song & back & forth & it’s my favorite live performance I’ve ever seen.

One of the things about Chris is how he obviously got more than country twang in his voice. There’s also a lot of soul and blues in there. Can’t think of many singers whose vocal style brings other genres into their singing.

Etta James wrote the original version of this song. It had different lyrics and was called I'd Rather Go Blind. It came out in 1968. Which is before the 80's, btw.
@rogerdaly6326
@rogerdaly6326 5 ай бұрын
The original was written by Dean Dillon & Linda Hargrove who originally offered the song to George Strait who passed on it. David Allen Coe recorded the first version in 1981. George Jones did his version in 1983. Chris's version without question borrows heavily from the Etta James song I'd Rather Go Blind , right down to the opening guitar riff and tone to the bluesey vocal phrasing. Not sure if it was intentional as a tribute to her if he is indeed a fan of Ettas or maybe he hoped her song was old enough most people wouldn't put two & two together. His is by far the most popular version of this song which i'm sure Dean & Linda are overjoyed with.
