@@myreviews8099 She has credits in television, film and for other artist such as Carrie Underwood's #2 Hit "Don't Forget to Remember Me". I always thought it was hilarious that Chris was to shy to ask her out so he would ask her to write songs with him on Friday nights to have an excuse to spend time with her (while Morgane was constantly dropping hints that stopped just short of hitting him upside the head with a baseball bat).

Etta James wrote the original version of this song. It had different lyrics and was called I'd Rather Go Blind. It came out in 1968. Which is before the 80's, btw.
@rogerdaly63265 ай бұрын
The original was written by Dean Dillon & Linda Hargrove who originally offered the song to George Strait who passed on it. David Allen Coe recorded the first version in 1981. George Jones did his version in 1983. Chris's version without question borrows heavily from the Etta James song I'd Rather Go Blind , right down to the opening guitar riff and tone to the bluesey vocal phrasing. Not sure if it was intentional as a tribute to her if he is indeed a fan of Ettas or maybe he hoped her song was old enough most people wouldn't put two & two together. His is by far the most popular version of this song which i'm sure Dean & Linda are overjoyed with.
