There were 2 things, non musical, that MJ was passionate about: Taking better care of the Earth and the human race coming together as one people. Like this song he expressed his pasions in music like Man in the Mirror, Can You Feel It and many others. the messages are there, but few people heard or listened to them and it hurt him.

This is one hell of a song. I loved it from the time it first came out, and it is one of my all time favorites by MJ. The video is epic. 😍 The song came out in 1995, I was only like 14 years old at that time. Every time this song came on the tv music channel VH1, my face was glued to the tv screen. LoL

Weird story: I heard that Michael Jackson died probably before some of his family even knew. A first responder on the scene leaked it to a friend, who was my coworker (major HIPAA violation). We turned on the TV and about 45 mins later, a chyron crossed saying there was an emergency response to MJ's home and about 10 minutes later, they announced he had died. It was surreal to know something like that in advance.

Look up the concert video of him in South Korea when the fan went nuts and climbed on the crane with him during this song. Crazy. Michael probably saved the guys life hanging into him the whole time...and still continuing the performance. The fan obviously got immediately arrested, but Michael asked the courts to drop all the charges against the guy. Worth watching, it's nuts.

Great reaction‼️. This whole subject was very near and dear to Michael's heart. He continued to do this song live to include a bulldozer coming on stage and he stops it. I love his very last line of the song - "Do We Give A Damn? I know I sure do but greed is destroying everything. He was rehearsing this the night before we lost him. If you have never seen any videos from the This Is It Tour, you need to react to some of those! I saw the movie in theaters when it came out about 6 times and have watched it on KZbin a bunch as well. What a show the world missed out on

Listen, Shon. Beyond the beauty of the song, in his own way, Michael was trying to make us all aware of the ongoing catastrophe with the wolrd, nature, our own health being at stake in the end. Sure that if the powers that be don't do the necessary to change this state of the world, we citizens of the world have little power compared to them. But we're not totally helpless, there are many ways in which each of us can contribute : eat less meat, use public transportation and natural transportation like walking and riding our bikes, recycle or, better, re-use, raise awareness by talking about those topics, encourage reforestation, support organic food by your purchases, vote for politicians who support change, etc. I's more than high time that we act, and not keep on talking. Sorry, it's not a rant at all, it's a hearfelt call for collective taking of our responsibilities.
