If you have ever been addicted, this song hits you. If you know someone who is addicted, this song hits you. If neither of these is true, this song still hits you if you have empathy. It's just beautiful, compassionate poetry.

I've been sober for 3 years and I've been living at the YWCA for the same amount of time. This song is a story of my everyday existence and neighbors. We had 13 deaths last summer from overdoses. I stay strong for those who can't. ❤

Laurie thank you for those beautiful words. Winnie that's great. Keep doing what you've been doing, it only gets better. People don't really understand. I've also lost too many, I could've been one of them. Been clean for a number of years. Keep those people in your life, it's unconditional love and they'll always be there for you. ❤️

I never got to meet Chris and Rich Robinson (lead singer and guitarist), but I knew their parents, Stan and Nancy. Chris looks like his mother. Around 1989-90, they used to have plastic black crows all over their showroom. They represented several lines of higher-end children’s clothing, that’s how we knew them . We had a clothing store. Stan, their father, had a song out back in the 50s or 60s.

This is going to seriously age me, but when I was young there was a famous song named Delta Dawn in the 60’s, and this reminds me of a more current reminder of that song.

I was a teenager when this song released. It was my friend Jaime's favorite song. Guess how she died... Yep. My homegirl OD'd... after gathering some clean time, she went back to her old dose. It's happened to many times and I just wanna see them all. This is what happens when you A: Use ANYTHING B: spend years in NA. All your friends eventually die. I just wanna be with them. I miss them All. So much. It's not f!cking FAIR. They were all my friend and they DIED. #JimCarroll #TheseArePeopleWhoDied #BasketballDiaries #Junkies #WhyCantIJoinThem
