The lyrics "Like Frankie said- I did it my way" (referring to Frank Sinatra's song "I did it my way"); and The lyrics referring to "Tommy and Gina" is referencing who Bon Jovi's song "Living on a prayer" was telling the story about. So that lyric is a throw back from a song earlier on in their career. ❤

I remember visiting Los Angeles for the first time and just wandering around downtown. I wanted to get to the Broad museum, and had to walk through a traffic/pedestrian tunnel. While walking through the green-tinged tunnel I thought to myself "surely this isn't...". I looked it up to confirm, and sure enough, it was the tunnel where the concert bit was filmed for this clip. A cool little travel moment.

What you may not have noticed is that, the music video notwithstanding, this was a "sequel" to Livin' On A Prayer - not only in its use of the talkbox, but actually namedropping "Tommy and Gina" from that song. He also managed to throw in a reference to Frank Sinatra with "Like Frankie said, I did it my way". Also, the thing he was looking at while running was a pager. Back in the 90s before mobile phones were an affordable option, these devices could be used to send callback phone numbers and in some cases short messages over the regular phone system. Thanks for making me feel my age again!!!

John Francis Bongiovi Jr., or Jon Bon Jovi as we know him is from New Jersey. But after you pointed it out, I too could hear the twang. Don't know....maybe he moved to the south and picked up an accent. It happens. His dad was a preacher. And Jon is an ordained minister. Jon has a chain of restaurants.....i think in L.A.....that take trade for food. Bring absolutely anything at all in, and it will be traded for a meal. He did this mainly with the homeless in mind. He believes that everyone should have access to food no matter what. You could literally walk in with an empty water bottle that you found laying in the gutter, and it would get you a meal. Many people who are more advantaged take in very very valuable items to trade....even things like rare vehicles. I think this is partly how he finances the chain, but don't know for sure. I once caught like the second half of a short documentary on it, but then never saw it again. If anyone else knows, feel free to chime in.
