The only mention of him being in purgatory for 3k years i found was in a discussion where someone said that narratively it does not matter if he spend 300 or 3k years in purgatory. So i just went with one of the lower numbers I found and purposefully put a + sign behind it because, just like everyone else (according to 10 minutes of research and the Wiki) there's no exact time of how long he spend and if there is, all I've Seen is that it would be more around 1000 years. For example check Bans age in the Wiki, which is listed as at least 1114 years chronologically.

This is what I dislike about so much of battle shonen the power creep is insane. Like I understand that at the time the writer was writing that chapter they probably hadn't taught up the character yet but you just expect me to belive that there is a villain powerful enough to destroy the Earth one arc and the next arc there is a random ass villager living down the streat that could sneeze him out of exsistance but never decided to show up to save the world. Its not like the antagonists and side characters grow with the protagonists in terms of power they are almost always shown having reached some kind of level and staying on it for a long time. It even fucks over worldbuilding like Black Clover for example, I love the series but how the hell do expect me to belive that the Spade Kingdom hasn't taken over when a single dark deciple would clear the entire continent if they just attacked sooner
