Shoojit Sarkar is such a gem of a director, finest Hindi cinema has produced in recent times. What he spoke about Sardar Udham was so true, the exhaustion you feel when you watch the aftermath of the massacre night, it was so disturbing because it was the first time you visually saw that dark chapter, as opposed to having only read about it. The host was right, his films are absolute bliss and we have nothing but gratitude towards him for producing such gems! ❤

quintessential blue blooded Bengali man! Bergman's Seventh Seal is probably my fav film of all time...other than that yes Apu trilogy, Calcutta Trilogy, Ajantrik and Titas , Padatik, Mrigaya, Jhinder Bondi, Hirak Raja, etc obviously are closest to heart... Godfather yes definitely up there, Goodfellas too infact better than the former , Spielberg is also up there for me, Batman Trilogy too, and my fav filmmaker will be Stanley Kubrick- FMJ and 2001 ,just the best

*"Amazing podcast! I really enjoy the content and the effort you put into these conversations. As a video editor, I noticed something about the seating arrangement that might improve the viewer experience. Currently, the host and guest positions feel swapped, which makes it seem like the guest is the host and vice versa. If the host were seated on the left side of the screen and the guest on the right, it might feel more natural and intuitive to watch. This small change could enhance the flow and make the roles visually clearer.

Dear America: Letters Home from Vietnam is a 1987 American documentary film inspired by the anthology of the same title, directed by Bill Couturié. The film's narration consists of real letters written by American soldiers, which are read by actors, including Robert De Niro and Martin Sheen.
