Wahlberg’s response “exactly” is perfect and quite nuanced. On one hand, he is a Senator and can’t be expected to face real justice, he’s just too powerful and connected. On the other hand, as a Senator he should have taken his oath more seriously and never abused his power. Love this scene.

Money is only paper. Influence is nothing but words in the wind. In the end, all any human is amounts to no more than a few hundred pounds of water and proteins, powered by an electric charge no greater than a D-cell battery. Mighty or miniscule, the powerful and the impoverished, all bleed the same. Strip away all the trappings of "civilized" society, and they are all just intelligent animals, waiting for the Hunter to strike.

The saddest thing about this scene is that Danny died fairly quickly and easily, compared to the amount of evil he has done around the world and the gruesome ways the victims of his mercenaries/warlords often having been tortured before they died.

Sometimes it is not about getting somebody to suffer, but just to get rid of him - quick and over. I actually like it, doing what he came to do and not basking in his revenge. With an attitude of a typical sniper, focused and not wasting time. The good, the bad and the ugly comes to mind: “if you want to shoot, shoot, don’t talk!” Otherwise look at the evil criminals in James Bond, because they do not just kill 007, they end up botching their entire operation and end up killing themselves in the process.

Andrew Rogers that would be interesting. He’s pretty old now, but he is very talented and could probably pull it off if his health is still good. I’d love it thinking he went from being the dufus from the original Superman and then going to tackle Gene Hackmans role. I don’t think he would do it out of respect for the original movies and Gene. But I do wonder how it would’ve been if Hackman and Beaty had switched roles. I bet the movies would’ve still been legendary

I know some people think Glover getting shot before Walbergs character even entered the house was kind of a letdown. But I always thought it was perfect. Glovers character was always so arrogant about being important and in control and to have his death be just so dismissive. Like he was just not important enough to look in the eye and kill. I always felt like that was more than just to show what a hardened bad ass the protaganist was. It was a characters final statement to his enemy. "Your just a guy who needs a bullet, that's all." I loved that this movie had little bits of subtext between the action scenes that the director leaves open to the audience to draw their own conclusions. Stuff like the "still got the shovel" line :)

Thing is he knew who it was that was gonna kill him. He knew he wasn't gonna get out of there alive and he felt the fear. Seems like Glover got shot bc he was the first one that tried to escape. And it also appeared that Glover was running towards “The Shooter” direction and presented himself as an easy target. If the intent was to show that Glovers death was unimportant, he could have been killled off screen like the poor guy who fell through the ceiling.

It’s a great turning point for their father-son relationship. When Rudy says that walking on to the football team is next, his father doesn’t tell him it’s impossible or to grow up. I used to work at the LAX gift shops and was lucky to meet Mr. Beatty. It was one of my more memorable celebrity encounters. The movie 'All God's Children' with Ned, Ossie Davis & Ruby Dee had recently aired. And I told him I watched it and asked about the unresolved cliffhanger at the end. The gift shop started to get busy, so he signed an autograph and left. I thought he left the answer on the paper. His autograph read: Dear Dee, the kid that died in 'All God's Children' was...over (instructing me to turn the paper over) and when I did it was blank!!! I never laughed so hard. Here's a little context: the plot of the movie was about bussing and an interracial friendship. Two boys are injured when a protest about bussing students to a different school goes awry and the bus crashes and catches fire. Both are burned badly; one kid dies and the other is unconcious and neither can be identified. When the doctor comes to finally inform the parents which lived and which died, the screen fades to black and all you hear is screams...but viewers don't know which mom is screaming. That was the end of the movie. Ned did tell me that both actresses were recorded screaming and their screams mixed together, making the screams difficult to identify. The ending was supposed to be ambiguous. And that is why my encounter with Mr. Beatty stays with me. He was generous with his time, shared some movie info and made me laugh. I'll always remember him fondly.

Well hey for this movie Mark Wahlberg went to a Marine Sniper School and train to use a sniper rifle and got so good at it that he got to where he could hit a target from 2100 yards away, that is 21 football fields, maybe not as good as some of the Marine snipers that I had met when I was in the Navy but I think that is pretty damn good for an actor

Sounds about as believable as the various exploits of Chris Kyle... did Marky Mark also beat up an underwater demolitions expert? Big step up from blinding little Vietnamese dudes for not helping him escape the police after committing hate crimes against black people... A very impressive dude that Marky, to be sure.

The Attorney General gave his subtle tacit approval of Swagger taking down the senator and his cabal in the meeting after his exoneration. "For the record, I don't like the way this turned out any more than you do, but this is the world we live in and justice does not always prevail. It's not the Wild West where you can clean up the streets with a gun... _even though sometimes that's exactly what is needed._ "

Will Friar; If you had something of value, something real to say, you'd be able to say it without all the childish name calling and derogation. That feeling of generalized rage you nurture, is a result of having abandoned reasoned debate, facts and serious consideration a long time ago. Uranium One is a total red herring. You've bought into that because you want, you NEED to support your hatred and suspicion. If there was, in fact, a problem with the Uranium One deal, people would be focusing on the approval process; the criteria for approval of the deal and how this deal was approved where others like it were not. But, they aren't doing that, because the CAN'T do that. This deal was run through the same 9-member panel as every other corporate sale subject to approval by the COFIUS approval process. Nobody is claiming it wasn't. THAT is what matters. Guistra could have given Hillary nothing or he could have given her a trainload of gold bullion and it would not mean there was anything wrong with the Uranium One approval.
