This actually helped. I've always been unsure of whether I'd want a Stryfe or a Rapidstrike, but this shows that, for twice the cost, full auto doesn't get you that much, especially when you could likely fingerbang a better time than this out of an UNmodified Stryfe. Stryfe it is!

Dude! Mod idea: Improved clipazines. So I'm gonna be talking about real guns a lot here but the concepts I'm talking about have nothing to do with explosions or air pressure and I've got a pretty good understanding of physics so I fell pretty safe applying this to nerf blasters. In real firearms, what makes them shoot faster is a good reset system (how long it takes to reset to how it is right before you pull the trigger). This involves the guns return system and the magazine spring. I'm just saying, install a stronger spring in a mag and increase the voltage by 10 fold on a rapidstrike and see what happens. I have no idea but just try it! Please like so Coop sees

Now i dont have as much experience as you but a comment on the flywheel vs spring. From my experience all the flywheel blasters ive ever used (rayven, stryfe, that clear modulus side reloading one, and modulus) are weaker and more jammy than springs. My retaliator hits consistently 77 fps with the crono barrel. My stryfe is 54-66 fps with crono for reference
