I really wish more filmmakers on KZbin went into the level of depth and decision making for each shot the way you do. It's the number one reason I keep an eye out for new content from you. For someone like me who isn't as experienced with filmmaking, your method is very relatable and gives meaningful insights to the way you have to think about problem solving on set, in the moment. Respect.

I love the video, and great work on the short film! Nobody represents the process, the experience of making videos as well as you. I teach video in Maine, and I love using your work to supplement what we're doing in class. Kudos on another one that will surely make its way into my class notes--The way you talk about, and work with your actors is wholesome--that's the kind of energy I hope my students walk out of here with. I'm also tickled that you're using a G7 at the beginning--that's my go-to cheap camera for class, but the monitor situation is dire. We also have a 17.5mm f0.9 Voightlander on our lens cart, and that sucker is beautiful!!

1. Expensive Lenses - Visible quality? Not to me, though my perception on lenses are very loose. 2. Anamorphic experiment - split format distracting? I personally loved it, mainly because it separated itself from the other scenes aesthetically. 3. The Magic Shot - feel the power!! I honestly did. Ignoring everything you brought about it, as if I was blind watching it, although an oxymoron, is how I tried to approach it. 4. Hint of Menace? YESS!!! My personal favorite part of the whole film is that scene because of the anticipation. 5. Romantic Chemistry? 100% The actors were delightful and looked like they were genuinely having a blast. 6. Did we save the film? Yes, you did Darious.

I definitely love the story about the process, it made me THAT much more interested in seeing the final results. Good work all the way around, in fact I think the most important thing had LITTLE to do with the camera and the technical aspects and more to adjusting your mentality to a changing project. I've started several projects with a precise vision, but realized the hardest thing was adjusting when the initial vision isn't the focus anymore. Great story telling.

Thanks for sharing the behind the scenes in such depth, and love your edits lol! As for the short, given the limitations you had and had to restructure the whole story because of the last 3 scenes, it turned out great! I guess one thing that ticked me off in the most respectful way was the micro jitters in the handheld shots, then again that added some layer to it so it might be just me taking the film in from a DP's pov. But great!
