Thanks for your thoughtful analysis. One takeaway I get from this amazing movie is that whatever system of rewards you get plugged into, whether it’s heroin or professional ambitions, it’s very hard to get free from it. If you can trap people on the hedonic treadmill, they will sell themselves out to it and become dull, self-centered drones.
