Welcome to the seventh episode of our fox shooting series on Shooting & Country TV! Foxing with Mark Ripley (aka 260RIPS) is a monthly series based around fox control using predominantly thermal imaging and night vision kit.
For a nice change, and to try and bag some venison for the larder, Mark first heads out on the hunt for a roe or fallow buck, then switches to "fox mode" as darkness falls, heading to another farm where some chickens have been taken on a regular basis by some problem Charlies.
The farmer will be VERY happy with the result!

Lovely shooting. The thermal spotter and IR scope combination is very effective. Hopefully the chicken numbers stay steady for a while. The .243 certainly hits hard.

@@260rips Why?
@260rips
@260rips 2 жыл бұрын
@@stephencarroll6014 I find it’s more user friendly and needs less messing around with than the 4K. The 4K seems to constantly need the ir adjusted to suit different distances. The hd is also a fair bit cheaper and the ir can be mounted on top rather than on the left of the 4K which for me as a left hander fouls the bolt lift!

Shooting animals with thermal and nv isnt much sport i hunt plenty myself but give them a chance use a lamp
@260rips

Foxes are still pretty smart creatures and even using such modern techniques can still be challenging! I do still on occasion use a lamp but there’s no doubt about it if you want to effectively control foxes then thermal and nv is a game changer.
