Thanks a lot for such a nice guide. I don't comment the things I see on KZbin but this is worth an exception. I watched several videos on TX200, as I was interested in doing some modifications in my Pro Sport rifle and I have to admit that this was the only guide that was useful. Looks like one man that has a nice hobby is trying to help others sharing the same hobby. Thank you for that. What was also really nice (apart with the funny part with the tea), that you used this wood and plastic to prevent any scratches. The only thing I would do different would be to remove the scope. I have a Vortex scope and it was damaged once so I'm extra carefull with such things right now.

You could use what I use that being a piece of broom handle 12 inches then place a slot in the middle of one end around a 1 inch in depth so you can place your cleaning rag or paper into it hence you have a better depth of movement plus its much quicker to use plus it will reach the far end of the cylinder wall hope this is of real help : great video 👌👌👌👍

Brilliant video, never watched a video like this before but I'll now appreciate what goes on under the bonnet of a rifle. I'm coming back to shooting after a 15-year break and looking around for a new air rifle, that's how I stumbled onto this video. I'm tending to favour the Weirhauch 95, bit expensive but my local and reliable gunshop has a nice second one on in stock. Owned the 97K but it was a bit heavy, had the Theoban Sorocco but could not get on with it and the old BSA Spitfire, probably my favorite rifle. The BSA Super 10 was OK in a clinical way but got fed up with all the faff of charging it up. Moved onto clay pigeon but still like air rifles. By coincidence, I was drinking a mug of Taylor's Yorkshire Tea at the time. Just finished the Cornish tea from down the road, they grow the stuff there, but I find it a bit delicate and I like a workman brew so I can taste the tea. So much poncy stuff about now. Be interesting to get along to Harrogate and visit Yorkshire's famous tea-growing fields, a trip for spring time, if winter ever comes. Cheers

One thing in the comments you've said the air cylinder doesn't move! It does the same as a 77 or 97. On the TX it has a delrin guide to run on so it could also be lubricated. Great video as usual. Best thing I ever did was teaching myself how to tune,mainly detune air rifles. You don't need fancy kits improving on what you have is much better. My tunes cost next to nothing but a bit of time and a few delrin washers I make from the delrin rod I had and a bit of moly job done!

Gary thank you so much, a pleasure to watch and very intuitive. A video on bluing would be fantastic too. Whilst asking, any similar strip downs on the Air Arms Pro Sport (or is that similar) or Weihrauch HW97K would too be appreciated, but fully understand if not possible. Oh and an garden bamboo stick wrapped in kitchen paper is what I used. On your strip down, I installed on my TX200HC the basic TBT drop in kit “This Tuning Kit comprises of a delrin spring guide with a long 2 part top hat, slip washer and 2 preload washers.”. I also highly polished both ends of the springs to a near glass look finish. Is this something you optionally recommend to be done or is it better to change the piston and compression tube to a Tony Leach 22mm one? Also if changing to a Tony Leach 22mm piston and compression tube, does the spring, spring guide top hat and washers need changing? Finally and thank you for mentioning the chronograph. Certainly after a clean or change of any mechanical bits it’s worth checking the power output as ultimately it’s one’s responsibility to keep within legal limits. So on that note could you do a session on the importance of using a chronograph. I use an FX air guns one and it’s fairly simplistic. Thanks again, always a pleasure. 👍

Hi Kris, the internals of the TX and the Prosport are the same. The only difference is the removal of the cooking lever is different, but very simple. I am going to make a video on the HW98, with a full strip and lube and an installation of a TBT drop in kit and spring. I will try and get a 97. Completely agree about polishing the ends of the springs. One I have done the basic videos, I'm going to do one on polishing, where we will look at springs and sears in the trigger. I am very happy with my 22mm piston, but my older tx runs regular internals. Both are great and accurate. I have tbt spring guide and top hat with my 22mm piston. Chrono video coming soon. Hope that helps. Gary

@garychillingworth
@garychillingworth 3 жыл бұрын
Hello Sven. I use molly on my spare gun and it's lasts around 5 tins. But I use the smallest amount I can. If you use more it will last longer. You get to know the felling of the rifle when it needs a relube.

Question: I just field stripped my Tx200 after about 2000 rounds through it… I noticed when I did this that there was a LOT of gray grease from the factory on the spring and all the internals.. is this normal? Watching your video shows VERY minimal grease on the components. Also, how often should I field strip and clean this rifle… This was a brand new unit from PyramydAir about a month ago and it started to feel gritty… it’s smooth as butter after cleaning a bit, but I left a lot of the original grease on the components
@ShootingCountryTV
@ShootingCountryTV 2 жыл бұрын
HI Geoff, Yes this is normal. When the gun leaves the factory, they set it up for people who will never strip the rifle and that is why it is well lubricated. Strip the grease out and relube, then do it again when the gun feels rough. Normaly around 500 to 1000 shots with molly. Gary
