Hi Surya from India here. Expired films are beautifull in it's own way. I just bought a minolta SRT101 for myself and looking at your pictures and the way you shoot really inspires me. When it comes to film its just light and shadows that you have to frame within and I loved the way you framed building, door, floor, rust, dirt and a lovely morning lake within a frame at the back 05:00 ! lovely mate!!!

My friend Hillarie Jason just gave me a roll of 220 Fuji 160ns that expired in 2003. I'm going to shoot it at ISO 25-50 in my Fuji G690 blp, but I haven't gotten around to it. When I started shooting film (again) in 2008, I got a few boxes of kodak 400VC 220. It was my absolute favorite film. I've been saving them for special trips, but now that they are a decade+ expired, I shot a roll in Shenandoah Nov 2020 and they just look "thin" now.

Shanghai GP3 is cooking fresh 220 btw. It was dicey at first, but their QC has really improved. I'd recommend xtol 1+3 for 16 minutes. My new favorite emulsion for the GW - love having 18 shots.

@jw48335
@jw48335 2 жыл бұрын
@@RobbieMaynardCreates If you do, just watch the highlights. It's a pretty contrasty film and has a tendency to blow things out, hence the xtol dilution. The best comparison I can think of is that it's like a 100 speed Pan F+, so I treat it with the same contrast-reducing workflow. Everything else about the emulsion is great - end result looks like trix once you tame the contrast. Well worth it IMHO to have a supply of fresh 220. They also have sheet film now- 4x5 100 sheets for $32!

Much appreciated! I was pleasantly surprised by it. Most of my experience with Expired Film has been poor at best lol

Getting only 8 frames on my GSW690II has been painful lately. I might need to check out some 220.

It’s a nice place dude! Where is it? How come there are so many abandoned objects?

One has to ask, are they really abandoned objects? Or just objects with no home? Deep thoughts.

Hey there! Great video- thanks for inspiring me to do the same! Dumb question… when you get it developed, do you note to push the film 1-2 stops, or let the lab treat it as box speed?

i just got one of these and i was wondering what aperture do you think has been the sharpest for you?
@RobbieMaynardCreates

Honestly, pretty sharp at most apertures but f8 to f11 seems to be the sharpest corner to corner.
