Hi, one of the many random people you met at the Ferries on Film meetup in Seattle - just wanted to say it was a lot of fun meeting you guys and glad you had such a good time in Seattle! I was the one with the weird soviet FED 2 Leica copy.

I'm photographing almost my entire life and I hate to admit it but I suck at forrest photos. The high contrast between shadows and sun coming through the branches is always killing me. You make it in both, video and analog photography, look like it's the most easy thing ever. Would really love a video about how you approach difficult lighting. I know you did the metering video but I watched it and I still suck.

It is dependant on your chosen film's dynamic range. Slide film is very bad at it, while Cinestill 800T that Jason uses has a very wide DR.

Dude! As a Seattle based photographer, it was super cool to see the subjects you chose to shoot in Pike, on the ferry, etc. Also had no idea Ferries on Film existed, thanks for the req, will definitely check out! Also, in my experience down at the Cape, the real Disappointment are the friends we made along the way… Loved the vid!

If the Nacho Fries Box is not available, the go-to is both a loaded potato griller AND a beefy nacho griller. Maybe a quesarito if I'm exceptionally hungry. Also as someone who's getting back into photography, I find your content incredibly inspiring and effortless to watch. I've even decided to declare bankruptcy and have my grandparents Olympus OM-2 restored and to start shooting because fuck it. Why not.

Awesome trip! i love my lovely state of Washington, its so beautiful here. Cape Disappointment is so beautiful, I love our coast line and the sound. Ruby beach is so wonderful, i hope to head there this winter to get some pictures. I hope yall got some mac and jacks beer while you were here, its not the best beer but its great local after a long day of hiking around. You should head up here during our different seasons, the length of daylight changes drastically and how the sun lands changes so much. Getting up into the mountains on a rainy day or a snowy day, fog filled valleys, trees as far as the eyes can see, snow covered mountain tops. its crazy beautiful here. So many different environments, weather patterns, variations of the light. I am kind of surprised yall passed over going to the Olympic National Forest and all of its crazy cool places. There are some fire watch towers you can climb, there are some amazing outlooks and old structures everywhere.

I must have put 30 or 40 rolls through my WP-1, It's a fantastic option for bad weather. These Days though I'm much more likely to grab my Konica Genba Kantoku DD, since that one is better designed for cold weather, and it has a 40 and 60 mm focal length.

Random point, I'm only three minutes in, but those Canons are interesting. I have one. The WP-1 is "weatherproof" as there were some differences in manufacturing which lead to it not being properly waterproof - however the AS-1 that I have is a fully underwater camera. A thing you can do with these is unscrew the "camera" inside the housing and test, I think its four screws, can't remember but can send you a gram video of how to remove it. Then you can dunk the housing underwater and see if it leaks. Anyway, on-wards.
