@@marktegrotenhuis - I gather this is a “Laowa probe lens”, and depending on the mount and where you get it it will be the very least 1500.- and up to 2000.- - which is honestly a normal price range for a quality lens.

Such a cool video! I preferred the shots that start close to the subject and slowly pull back. Due to the shallow depth of field, when you are moving towards an object I tend to stare at the blurry subject until it becomes clear, as it is in the center of the frame, which causes me to miss the surrounding object. However, when starting close, I see the main object and as the camera pulls back, my eyes can be lead to the surroundings which feels more natural. I guess it depends though, because the Razorcrest one worked well zooming in, perhaps because there were main details such as minifigs off the the side, but still close to the center. I'm sure you have plans to include this in upcoming reviews, which I think would make great B-roll! I think especially if you do more shots pulling back rather than zooming in. Just wanted to share some feedback 😃

Some of these work better than other and that’s definitely to be expected since the sets aren’t designed for this sort of thing. BUT this really sparked my imagination, and my love for this medium of creativity (Lego in general, that is). Thanks for this project! If you decide to do more, it could be cool to create camera “ports” in certain sets. Like a way to go through the back windshield of the Porsche so we can see what it looks like to drive it! Obv that would take a lot more work but that’s my idea haha. I loved this video just the same.

Lego is perfect for making these shots, but also for adding orbit/panning movements as the lens moves in. Archways could open up and walls split apart to make room for the lens as you move the camera left or right to view different parts of a scene.

Genius! I have always wanted to do this "true" Lego perspective without too big cameras in the way, even with a set structure. The only "problem" is the low depth of field. It looks great, but it is too big as more refraction is necessary the closer you get. Only 2 dioptries are necessary for the range from ∞ till 0.5 m , but >10 dioptries for the range from 50 cm to 10 cm. This asymmetry leads to inevitably less depth of field with same light on the sensor.

Hi Tiago, as a LEGO fan and amateur photographer, I really enjoyed this latest video of yours. Let me ask you a question a bit out of context: I am trying to build my own inventory of pieces to build MOCs. How did you create yours? Do you buy pieces from BrickLink, buy sets and then separate the pieces, or... what else? Would you like to make a video about it if you haven't already? Thank you very much for your contents.
@TiagoCatarino
@TiagoCatarino Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yeah, what you've just said, mostly LEGO sets, the occasional bricklink purchases and PaB cups whenever I get to go to a LEGO Shop! You also need to be smart about which sets to get. Star Wars may be cool but will only get you a ton of gray and technic elements... Large models are great for pieces usually, Classic and creator 3in1 sets for the best value out of your money as far as useful LEGO pieces for MOC's go.
