A question for anyone that knows and is willing to respond with unbyest strait answer. Of the two current Oneidas one is referred to as a fishing bow. Hmmmm. Why is that ? Also , do they have a let off with adjustable valley as do the contemporary compounds ?

Hi there, im really getting into archery and thinking of getting a bow in the future and ive settled on oneida bows but im not sure which one to pick but i do have interests in the kestrel,phoenix and the eagle can you please tell me the difference between the 3 bows and possibly also tell me the advantages/disadvantages of each bow ?
@harrysorandom12172 жыл бұрын
Hello, I never owned or shot a eagle. But I shot Kestrel and Phoenix. The difference between the two are going to be the weight and the phoenix having a string stopper/suppress sound. Also phoenix being a newest model. Kestrel will be hard to find now days. I wasn’t able to find any disadvantages other then the Kestrel having little more weight. This is from my understanding of the bow from my experience. I’m not a professional archer. I just love to shoot. Hopes this helps little. Ask me if you have anymore questions:)

@@harrysorandom1217 thx for answering my question, i would also like to ask on your opinion about which bow feels better in hand and which is better to use and the durability of each bow in long-term use and short term use.
@harrysorandom12172 жыл бұрын
@@C3.J4Y I usually shoot for 2 hours straight and both of them feels great. I chose the Kestrel over my Phoenix for its visual look and rarity:) Durability wise, they both seem to be the same. I would recommend you to go with Phoenix because you can buy it brand new. The kestrel might be only through 2nd hand probably. For long term usage, it depends on how you take care of it. Hope this help:)

I want to buy a oneida bow .. I'm undecided, however, whether to take the kestrel or the phoenix. what would you recommend me?
@harrysorandom12176 жыл бұрын
Andrea Paunovic I really love both bows. But I'll try to tell you the difference between them and you can decide from there maybe. Phoenix parts are all metal while kestrel has plastic parts. Phoenix is lot heavier then Kestrel. They both feel good in hands. Phoenix is lot more quieter then Kestrel since it has damping system which also gives long life spam of shooting. I hope this can help you by little on which bow to buy. I was actually going to buy kestrel first but I heard that Phoenix was coming for pre order and was told that the Phoenix will be better then Kestrel. But after a year, I bought the Kestrel because I had my heart set to it first before the Phoenix.
@andreapaunovic24426 жыл бұрын
nicely like the kestrel. is there a difference in speed, stability, precision, and things like this?
@harrysorandom12176 жыл бұрын
Andrea Paunovic speed why's I am not sure. But accuracy wise there both good and depended by the user shooting it. I was both shooting them around 50 draw weight and it seemed the same and feeled the same. I hope this helped you little. Thank you
@andreapaunovic24426 жыл бұрын
Yes thanks. Does the kestrel only have plastic round cams or something else?
@harrysorandom12176 жыл бұрын
Andrea Paunovic Im not at home at this time to be exact but the Timing wheel and Idlers are plastic for sure. I found a custom shop that sells those part in metals to replace the plastic for the Kestrel. Here is the website if your interested by any chance and I hope this helps you :) gstringbowstrings.com/products

So quick question regarding onieda bows: Is the draw one smooth fluid motion like a recurve or does it have let off like a compound, where it starts at 70 and drops to 10.
@dr.richardmatthews94945 жыл бұрын
I have one, and can tell you they do let off; they're technically a compound. Letoff on mine is adjustable from 50-80%. But the draw is much smoother than conventional compounds, though not as fast a bow with light arrows. With heavy arrows the Oneidas don't give up much to conventional compounds.
