I totally agree with your assessment on the I-2 and the magical transformation rendering of what is in front of the camera when the shutter button is pushed. I have cameras that will make a high fidelity faithful high res photograph already. This camera does something completely different. (And I didn’t find the camera’s price expensive, given its features.) It can certainly be challenging to work in the overly familiar setting of Home. Everywhere you look, you’ve looked before, many many times. To travel to a new location, full of the new and visually exciting everywhere you look is a very different experience. The results you’re getting at Home show your efforts to see the familiar anew. 👍🏼 Thank you for sharing your process and thoughts and the photos. I’m really enjoying all of these 365 videos!

Shooting with the i2 as well and I'm really liking it. I'm being picky about what I photograph with it, though, because of how expensive it is. Glad I found you page...

Yes! You've got to picky for sure. I get a weird guilty bad feeling in my stomach when I waste a shot haha

Yep, it’s definitely pricey. Fortunately I can at least write it off my business taxes 😂

hi! if you're not using double exposure, which other mode to you typically use?
@doublenegative4real3 ай бұрын
@@cold_porcelain honestly, AUTO! Double Exposure mode also uses Auto essentially so I’ve been working to try and use auto to get consistent results. Aperture priority is my next go to

@@doublenegative4real thank you so much for getting back to me! If you also wouldn't mind me asking, which tripod do you use/recommend for the I-2?
@doublenegative4real3 ай бұрын
@@cold_porcelain I just have a manfrotto carbon fiber tripod I use for all my cameras. you can use any tripod. Just be aware that the thread on the 1-2 is plastic so it's easy to strip when screwing it on a tripod if you cross thread it

Polaroid I-2 for 600$ is well worth it? For a product, that binds you for a lifetime to Polaroid film buying it is disgustingly expensive. Haven't seen someone with it outside of YOutubers that get this camera gifted by Polaroid.
@doublenegative4real9 ай бұрын
if only Polaroid gave me one 😂 Nah I paid for it out of my own pocket. And yeah it’s worth it if you really really enjoy shooting Polaroids. If you’re a Polaroid casual there are plenty of cheap alternatives out there that work just fine.
@lelandfitz17629 ай бұрын
@@doublenegative4real So I add you as the first person who paid for it on my imaginary list LOL It's great that they decided to build a camera that has a lens that is able to create good pictures for once. I congratulate them on knowing their target customer group who will pay that price. For me it just feels like Kodak's 8mm camera where I have to ask myself why even bother making something when you know you will only sell a small amount.
@doublenegative4real9 ай бұрын
@@lelandfitz1762 I’m not so sure a small amount of people are buying it. It’s the first flagship Polaroid camera packed out with features (without needing an app) with a price comparable to buying a good condition SX-70. It’s really the only game in town at the moment for someone like me that is more serious about Polaroids
@lelandfitz17629 ай бұрын
@@doublenegative4real Yes you definitely have to be invested into all things polaroid for that one. I didnt know about the prices of old models but that for sure played into the pricing. I stand by it that the price is too high in comparison to what you get. But as I said: Its the only instant camera out there with a decent lens (Instax or Polaroid). In Europe it sells for 699€. Considering that a (really useable) Instant camera makes owners shoot more film than on mediocre ones I'd double down on saying that 399€ would have been a fair price. Just compare it to gaming consoles where the manufacturers know their customers will only buy games from them anyways, just as with Polaroid film...
