Shooting TETHERED From Canon eos R5 (or any camera) to LIGHTROOM

You are now able to do this same method but on wifi shooting through EOS 3, no wire is needed, inspiring to make a video about demo on that type of setup

It hasn’t changed… I have Updated Lightroom and it’s still: File - Tethered capture 😊

very nice sir ! but I have a problem, I purchased tethered cable for my camera, I have Canon R7 mirrorless camera, in light room after capture tethered cable, but camera is not detected pl resolve the problem, thanks

Just updated my firmware on my R6 and tried a tethered connection for the first time. I kept my memory cards in (I record to 2 cards simultaneously) and LrC recognized my camera and everything worked as it should and I checked my cards and they both have the photos recorded on them as well! Exciting that the bug is fixed and that I can records to my laptop and the cards at the same time. *The only other thing that I would like to know is how do I add the photos to an external hard drive at the same time they are recording to my computer and my cards. I bought an external hard drive because I was told that I couldn't records to my cards and the computer at the same time. Even though I don't need it anymore, I'd still like to know how it's done.

You will need some software for that… last time I tried something like this I think the software was just called File Sync… I never tried it when shooting tethered… I never needed 3 copies of a file when shooting

I am all set up, my EOS RP is connected and live view is working. I can take pictures and they are stored on the SD. Here is what annoys me. The images are not stored in Lightroom. What can be wrong here ?

I don’t know… you tried taking the card out? …make sure your cable isn’t damaged…

I d never shot tethered as never had the reason too… I hadn’t even thought about it. The argument about losing connection with the model would seem quite valid though…

It’s like with many things… you don’t think about it until you try it… then it’s difficult to shoot without it 😊 I use it sometimes, the problem is it can be distracting for the clients… they constantly want to look 😊 But it’s extremely useful

Have the latest firmware on my R5 for months now. Went to do a photo shoot the other night and when I plugged in the Lightroom it shoots Heather it would not recognize my device. I have the Canon utilities which didn't recognize my device and fortunately it put everything in a separate folder which later on I uploaded the Lightroom but it would have been nice to put in Lightroom right there now. Apparently Lightroom and me have been having a lot of issues lately with crashes and freezes and numerous other problems. It's been on and off for years, I just wish there was another company that made a light wind Photoshop combination cuz I'm sick of these

On Windows its working that easy but on a Mac it doesn't....
