Having worked in feral animal management for many years, this is the best way to manage large numbers of pigs. You need to remove 70% of the population every year to keep the numbers static, above 70% and you are going to reduce population numbers. Thanks for the memories of what I have experienced in years gone, and keep up the great work.

Soundly researched comparisons would be interesting showing technique results and the major variables. It's likely in many habitats it is mostly an expensive waste of avgas. Any population monitoring pre and post control in these sites aerially hunted, and info from operators what % was estimated got, both from targets seen and what they think was there & unseen would provide useful information.

Excellent tool in the right hands for the right purpose. A subset of the 10% of hunters who are actually effective. Enough of the rest are not the sort who should be allowed near these firearms. Should be noted not all "professionals" are competent either, and getting politicians & government servants of sound enough mind to determine practical ways to sort out who is suitable for what situation is a long shot. A good operator with a bolt action would have been able to get most of what was shot in this example it seems, though not as efficiently

Always glad tom see ferals despatched - very impressive shooting from a vehicle such as this - most "appeared" to be instant kills but the speed of the vehicle scours overs things very quickly. 308 is decent enough me thinks and from that angle enough devestation. Very impressive shooting and equally impressive flying. Even though you shoot an awful lot of pigs, I can't help wondering if you can actually make a dent in the population, given the reproductive rate of pigs. I also noticed that in almost every sounder, at least one of the young piglets had a lot less pigmentation than the rest and was very often the hindmost and thus the first to be shot. I am sure was just coincidence, as one might think them a lot harder to spot for you (or any predators) in that sandy environment, but it did give me a bit of a chuckle thinking "so much for white supremacy among pigs" :) I really hope your skilled shooting makes a difference, so keep up the very good work.

Okay, because there is so much white supremacy going on that it has worked its way into the feral pig world of Australia. Even if it was a joke, you can't believe every narrative you hear on the news. What a racist you are. What if you said that about the Black pigs? Would you be funny or racist. Either way you are a racist. Think about it.

@13_13k
@13_13k Жыл бұрын
@@ToreDL87 --- don't get me wrong. I'm all about slaughtering those f*cken pigs. They are a huge problem in many parts of the world, including here in the U.S. . What I'm talking about are these people, like the OP talking about white supremacy working it's wsy into the feral pig population, as if it is so widespread and so prevalent, in reality that it's an epidemic and no one is safe. When was the last time anyone watched a group of white supremasts terrorizing a neighborhood, looting, shooting and lighting shit on fire? Or car jacking black people, or a group walking into a jewelry store or a Gucci store and smash and grab hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise? The only times amyone has seen blacks terrorized by "white supremasts" on the news they all turned out to be faked and lies by the supposed victims. "White Supremacy" being the worst problem of all crime in the U.S., as the President, and the mainstream news outlets would like you to believe, is one of the biggest lies being told besides that vaccines being 100% effective and totally safe. They are trying to run cover for the obvious biggest criminals in the U.S. committing over 60% of all crimes and 90% of all crimes including murder against their own people is 13% of the populations of the U.S., the Black population. The Democratic party are the actual biggest group of racists and when there isn't any real racism happening, they have to invent it and create it out of thin air and blame all the problems that America has on a lie by blaming it on systemic racism and the white supremasts. I can honestly say in my 58 years of living in America in Los Angeles and in Bay Area, I've never seen a group of white supremasts anywhere except in jail where everything is based on race. Never seen any marching through towns, never seen them rolling through Black neighborhoods shooting and lynching people, never seen them having "mostly peaceful" protests like we see Black people do all the time. I grew up in a predominantly Black neighborhood and even now I live in a neighborhood that is downtown LA and I'm one of about eight white people in a two mile radius and in one of the most violent and dangerous neighborhoods in LA. . So when something is said, like what the OP said, it is offensive to me as a white man, who is tired of the stupidity and gullibility of the average person and especially the Liberals in this country and anywhere else that believe the narrative instead of using their eyes and their brain to see what is actually going on in the world.. But, it seems like they just don't have that ability. Brainwash or birth defect?

Awesome setup, sick shooting and skilled piloting! This Texan salutes your effort (and marksmanship, which is fantastic because you take time to line up your shots) because these guys are pests here in Texas, too! Couldn't help but notice what appears to be a really nice linear compensator at the end of that AR10 barrel (or is that a shorter suppressor?)? Also, what optic are you using? I know somebody probably already made the Full Metal Jacket joke, but I still have to say: "How can you shoot sows and piglets?" "Easy you just don't lead them so much! Ain't culling hell?"

Thanks for the kind words. Optic is an Aimpoint H2. Running a big radial muzzlebrake and blast jacket from Wedgetail Industries 👍

@@FVR375 Thanks a lot! It seems that there are some American equivalents of that muzzle brake here (since I read on Wedgetail's site that their products aren't available for export). I have a Hera Arms linear comp (German made) on my 7.62 x 39 AR15 I built and it really helps. Going to get one for my 308 AR10 by Palmetto State Armory sometime and take them out on a hog hunt soon. That Wedgetail Industries rifle looks superbly built and is really beautiful! I love that color scheme! Happy hunting (and thank you again)!

What a brilliant display of flying and marksmanship brother that had to be around 85% one shot one kill rate. Also you showed your professionalism by not just wounding and leaving to die, I take my hat off to both of you mates.

I was curious about the licensing of a gun like this in Australia. Who can get this gun and how?

Little late but anyhow. Brief Explanation- To be licensed for a semi-auto centerfire rifle ( Cat D) you either need to be a Primary Producer (Farmer) with both the land and a pest problem that cannot be managed with bolt actions, or in Nathan's case be a professional contract shooter/ pest controller

Excellent video and excellent shooting skills!! All set up by a pilot that knows what is needed and providing it. Well done!! Unless there is a BIG truck involved, they leave the dead hogs where they lie? Are any collected for consumption? Turn some into dog / cat food? Again, great video!!

We have Feral pigs in the southern states of the U.S. They are causing farmers a lot of headaches. They are legal to kill without a hunting license Great video, and fun to watch.

Yup, i worked gor LSU AG and we had hogs come through and plowed up months worth of dirt work on an orchard development we had going. Then they crossed the road and took out about 2 acres of corn in a farmers field. Tens of thousands of dollars gone in a few hours. It took me another month of work fixing everything.

Well dad blasted, I was wrong about Louisiana, SB 317 exempts any person (resident or nonresident), with landowner consent, from a hunting license requirement to hunt feral hogs in texas. @@cowboywoodard2569
