I was in my late teens when these were around and I could not of cared less about them at that time. Its amazing how your feelings change as the years go by. This gave me a huge nostalgia hit and I realize now this car wasnt nearly as bad or boring as I thought it was. This example was in exceptional shape to. Good stuff Zach and as always thanks for the review!

Cars back then had personality…like the people who drove them…we may have liked or disliked them, but they were meant to be something unique straight out of the assembly plant. So nowadays with this lack of overall character and personality, you are possibly seeing it for what it really was and is.

My dad bought a breand new 1992 LeBaron coupe that exact teal color with a charcoal grey interior, same engine and tranny. That car was awesome! I just got my drivers license around then and I absolutely loved driving this car!

The mileage on this car threw me off so hard. Looking at the B roll and the engine bay, I expected this thing to have 30k miles. I was wondering why you didnt mention the miles at the start when you normally do for low mile cars. Then you said it had 4 transmissions already, and that seemed high even for a low mile Chrysler. I just couldnt believe it when I saw 196k on the odometer. The car was definitely treated like royalty. Did they even touch the steering wheel when they drove? The texture on it is still perfect

I still think it's a handsome car that looks far more expensive and luxurious than it actually was. My mom had a new GTS back in the latenineteen 80s in anything that could go wrong usually did with it. Even though I was little I was always jealous that our Liberian GTS didn't have the pop open headlights.

My Mother bought a brand new 85 Le Baron Marc Cross Edition convertible in Gun Metal Blue right off the showroom floor and I thought she was crazy for wanting something rather sporty after owning big sedans for several years! But she loved that car and said she loved the looks she got from people when they found out a little Greyish haired lady was driving it! She even went so far as to sticking a bumper sticker on it that said "Foxy Grandma' on the back of it! However she only got to own it for a couple of years before she passed away from a stroke! We unfortunately had to sell the car to settle her estate and I remember that the car only had about 15,000 miles on it! I wish all these years later, that I had kept it!!! ""Sigh""

This is nostalgia at its finest! I begged my parents to buy one of these when I was a kid in the early 90’s. Sadly they didn’t. To see one in such impeccable condition as this makes me want one all over again!

What a great example of a 1992 car, Zack. They were never sold in Australia, as Chrysler Australia had been taken over by Mitsubishi many years earlier. You might like to find a Mitsubishi Starion Turbo. Rare, but a really good alternative to a Mazda RX7, or a Nissan Z.

I loved the styling of the late 80’s LeBaron but had a Dodge Daytona instead, a very similar K car based platform. I did almost purchase a 1990 LeBaron GTC, a rare one with the 174 HP turbo option. Unfortunately they had an issue and stopped production.

Gawd DAMN that thing is in nice shape especially for the mileage! I absolutely love that teal (sea foam green) color as well. My 1992 Shadow I had right out of high school was the same color but 90% of it's paint was flaking off haha. If that thing was a manual I'd be asking where it is so I could go buy it.

My grandpa had an '89 LeBaron convertible, in sort of a blue-gray color. I don't remember which engine it had, but it was very slow and he was fine with that. Grandpa was a very leisurely driver. When I was a little kid I thought those headlight covers were the most awesome thing ever.

That very special 90s green/blue! These cars look so slick in coupe form, like a smaller, cheaper T bird, but with COVERED HEADLIGHTS! That adds a huge amount of appeal right there, especially since it was front wheel drive, no v8 option, the added style makes up for those weaknesses a bit for the majority of buyers who know nothing about FWD or engines etc. "It looks cool, and it's a pretty colour!" That sells WAY more cars than people realise!

Who remembers the Chrysler TC by Maserati? The Chrysler TC by Maserati was often mistaken for LeBaron. The original price of a 1991 Chrysler TC by Maserati was $37,000 which is about $82,769 in 2023. The Chrysler TC by Maserati was discontinued in 1991. Nobody wanted to pay over $80,000 for what some considered and overpriced or knockoff LeBaron.

Also, I could be wrong, but I think that cover over the convertible area is just called a boot. Tonneau covers in cars are usually for open air roadsters without a top, and it's what's used to cover the entire passenger area or rear seats when parked. The boot in a convertible only covers the area behind the rear seats where the top is stowed when down.

2000's as well. My 2001 Sebring convertible has 70k on it. Transmission fluid has been changed twice so far. Fluid is red and clean. The thing shifts horribly in stop and go traffic. Always has since I got it at 28k. I expect it to need a transmission one day.

I had a 1994 in Chrysler’s version of British Racing/Polo Green w/ tan interior. I can’t speak to the horrors of the transmission, but the convertible insulation/moulding was brutally cheap; if you parked it outside in the rain once you’d come back to a lake of about three inches of water in your floorboards. But when the sun was out this was really a glorious car to drive.

The Chrysler LeBarons were The Biggest Chick Magnets EVER Made in America!!!😎 Ok, at least in MY Lifetime. The Mustang 5.0 convertibles and Camaro Iroc Z28 T-tops were a VEEERY close Second!!😁 A 4-cylinder engine woulda been fine because in the late 20th century this was a car you DEFINITELY wanted to be seen in.🤑 Even as a passenger!!🤓 And teal was a RIDICULOUSLY Popular color in the early 90's, especially on Fords. I've been reading and discovering that the trannys post TorqueFlite 3 speed automatics and pre-Daimler-Chrysler merger were problematic. But once Daimler got a foothold in the Quality Control dep't, the 4 speed autos were much better. Or so I've read and heard.🧐🕵
