Thanks! I don't have complete plans as a lot of the specs changed from the original drawings. I hope to make a complete set of plans at some point. The rollers are 3" PVC pipe with hubs made of PVC sheet. The various parts were cut using hole saws, laminated together, then trued up on a lathe. The hubs were then drilled out for the axles as a complete assembly

I made the hubs out of 1/4" PVC sheet. I cut all the pieces with hole saws of various sizes and then laminated the pieces together to make hubs and flanges. Those were then mounted inside the 3" PVC roller.

Thanks! The 3 necks I've run so far were held on with double stick tape. I plan to improve this to a positive attachment/alignment mechanical fastener so repeatable results are better assured.

I really want to build one of these for my Shopsmith. I built a compound radius jig for my router. It works great but this seems like the ticket. I already got significant tear out on one board out of 10. Make some plans. Will buy them.

Jay, There's a build thread over at telecaster.com. It has drawings and 3D renders for most of the process. I changed some things along the way so you want to read thru the thread before getting too far with the build. Good luck and let me know how it goes. www.tdpri.com/threads/building-a-swing-arm-belt-sander.314116/

Thx a lot for share. Can you get compound radius from this jig? I really need to solve the compound...., & it seems to be so hard to get..., what would you tell me about it? THX!

Wow, that's awesome, I would love me one of those. how do you attach it to the wood? I'm sure double sided tape would work, guys seem to use that a lot in guitar building.

You're very close. They are PVC but with PVC hubs as well. Best of luck with the guitar build. The first one is a great journey.

Where did you find hubs to go so small? Or what do you mean by hubs? Sorry, doesn't make sense and I'm thinking of building one of these.

Nice! What were your plans/how did you build the swingarm?

Man this is so much easier. We would plane ours and end up with chipouts, do yours end up dead flat for the whole length of the board or is there a bit of fine tuning to do?

No expert, but from looking around on youtube, I saw some people using pvc with a peice of wood drilled with a hole saw on each end. Even if that isn't, that would definitely be a cheap way. Cheers!! Bentley at Beckley Guitars ( just kidding, I'm just in the process of building my first guitar)
