so a thrust bearing allows a shaft to spin on it's axis but not 'pitch' (point up/down) or 'yaw' (turn left/right), also the bearing resists forces in the x, y and z axis, basically holding it in place but allowing it to turn on it's axis... hope that helps

I appreciate the video , but I didn’t quite catch it! Once I saw the picture of the bearing sandwiched by two washers, I understood what a thrust bearing is. I still did not figure out how you were using it though from your drawings.

The micro uses a push / pull rod to move the table and the current design is basically a friction fit. So the tighter you make the less back-lash however the way more friction. The trust bearings bearing solve this problem allowing to tighten up against the bearing without crazy friction. Hope this helps :-)

Hi. Thanks for the great video. When you have one of these bearings, it looks like to top part spins in the opposite direction to the bottom. If you stack a second one on top, is the very top racer forced to spin in the same direction as the very bottom one? Thanks

Just a piece of feedback, for the sake of constructive criticism. Over five minutes to explain something that could take 30 seconds. Why explain the project you're working on? Don't need to know what your project is to understand what the bearing does. Don't got all the time in the world to watch the videos on your channel.
