I will soon be needing to punch 3/8" dia. holes thru a SINGLE PLY of 1" Biothane: Gold Series, Hi Flex. Will this machine handle that die set?? Thanks!

HI Mike and thank you for the question.. Yes, the Handyman press can handle a 3/8" diameter punch no problem. Check out The Strapwarehouse website here: strapwarehouse.com/the-handyman-press-hand-riveter-punch/ and I notice they have up to 1/2" punches available. They have 3/8" punches listed in the drop-down menu. Thanks again and I hope this helps!

LOL I was just wondering that exact idea myself!! That would be a custom punch set-up that Marlin would have to work with Sunset Designs on. I think it could be done. I will bring this up with Marlin and ask if it could be done. Maybe you could send him an email as well! [e-mail]

Do you know what the thread is on the punch holder? None of my thread gauges match it.

This is a great video. I have a tool to set crystal rivets. This will be a great tool to add for the biothane. I have been trying to figure out the best way to punch hole & set rivets. Thanks for advice on the different options for caps to secure dog collars. I like the double cap...so dog hair won't catch. To confirm brass or nickle is what you recommend :)

Thank you for using BIO! Brass or nickle plated are both fine to use. If you use nickle plated brass, that is a great "silver" finish option since the brass wont rust once some of the plating wears off. They cost a little more but if quality is more important then I would go with nickle plated brass:)
