Sorry everyone for the nauseating back-and-forth panning during this video. I was trying to film it solo with my AI/artificial intelligence and I think it was a bit too much. I’ll get it worked out so it’s not that way in the future. Thanks to everyone for watching.

@@janetlarson5225 thank you so much, you’re right, everything that you see probably has at least five hours worth of thought process that went into each of them. It’s funny because I’ll come up with an idea that I think is amazing and then all of a sudden I’ll have one little thought that will switch it and the whole thing changes. That’s why I’m cautious to not build with my first idea, but learn the value of slowing down and chewing on it for a little bit to make sure that it’s ultimately what I need. And even then, sometimes it changes after the fact. Thanks for commenting, have a great day.

Lol, beautiful indeed. I’ve always thought about replacing it, but I’ve never did. Perhaps it just reminds me that life‘s worth more when you’re willing to go after things that you’re not totally comfortable in and willing to make a mistake versus not doing much for the sake of being comfortable and safe.

@generalsworkshop10 күн бұрын
Great eye catching the Christmas tree! Yes, I do decorate for Christmas-it’s all part of the festive spirit around here. But don’t worry, the tree doesn’t get in the way of my projects. If anything, it adds a little extra magic to the workshop. I like to think of it as Santa’s workshop, but instead of toys, I’m cranking out sawdust and Airsoft trailers. And who knows-when it’s all decorated, I might even do another workshop tour video, but this time calling it the Christmas Edition! Stay tuned!

Excellent shop. Looks too nice to work in 😂 . As to your vacuum situation. I have a metal and wood shop myself. More metal than wood machines and only a glorified hobby shop. This being said I don’t generate enough wood chips and saw dust to warrant a big dust collection system. What I have is a dedicated vacume for my table saw as well as my miter saw using an auto switch on each. Honestly it works pretty darn good. I had to make a better piece to use on the miter saw behind the blade though. Most saws don’t really have great systems. 😂 just like most table saws have junk miter gauges. Anyway I love your presentation as well as your man cave shop. If I could design a man cave shop I’d use your ideas 100%. Keep up the great work young man…….I’m soon to be 75 so yeah your young😂 👍🏼👍🏼
@generalsworkshop9 күн бұрын
Lol, young man, I’ll take it! My dad is 93 and he keeps telling me “don’t get old”. Still figuring out how to do that and wish there was an auto switch for staying Young. I really admire your practical setup with the smaller Shop Vacs and auto switches. It’s a smart system that makes a lot of sense for shops that don’t need a full dust collection system. Honestly, you’ve got me thinking about how I can incorporate something similar for smaller jobs in my shop. As for the man cave ideas-if you ever change your mind, I’d bet your take on it would be incredible. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and I really appreciate you taking the time to check out the video!
@Lwimmermastermetalart9 күн бұрын
Honestly you have the best shop I’ve seen on here. And I watch a LOT of shop tours. I just keep thinking regardless of the dust collection systems you have to still get dust over all your kool man cave furniture. The combination is awesome though. So when the wife makes you feel like you should be in the dog house you have a great place to go. Speaking of wives…..mine is 18 years younger than me and also grew up in MN. Probably the best thing in your shop is the shop dog lol. I have a pocket Beagle. She’s only a year old so I have the 2 second rule. If I don’t pick something up in 2 seconds she has it in her mouth and you’ll never see it again🤣. The mini split HVAC is awesome to have. I finally put one in my shop. I live at the beach in SC so it gets hot and can still get chilly in the winter. Seeing what you have makes me want to do the same. But at 75 that’s not gonna happen lol. My metal shop has a bunch of saws, welders, Bridgeport and 14 inch lathe so I’m gonna stay put. Nice having conversations with you. I subscribed BYW. looking forward to see more of your projects. Below find a link to the shop tour of my machine shop. Sold it to my sons years ago, but it will always be my baby.
@ Thank you so much! Being awarded the 'Best Shop' is a high accolade indeed-I humbly and gladly accept! You're absolutely right about the dust settling in the man cave area; it's definitely a drawback. That said, I do have an air filter mounted on the ceiling (which, for some odd reason, didn’t make it into the shop tour video). It works well in conjunction with the vacuums to help manage the dust. As for the dog-lol, the two-second rule is alive and well here, too. Unless, of course, it's food; then he somehow manages to catch it mid-air like a pro athlete! And you're from Minnesota? That's awesome! My mom is 18 years younger than my dad so I can definitely relate. The mini-split has been an absolute game-changer for making the shop comfortable year-round. Your metal shop sounds amazing! I'm trying to dive deeper into metalworking and welding myself. In fact, my next video will feature a trailer tour where the back end was completely removed and rebuilt. It will also show several welded projects done right in my shop. Hopefully, it’ll be out soon-would love for you to check it out! By the way, I didn’t see the link you mentioned for your metal shop-where can I find it? I’d be really excited to see your setup!
