I don't comment much. But every time I do you do reply. That's amazing. You have one of the best KZbin channels out there. This video came out a little late today. I found myself checking the feed more times then I would like to admit. Great content. Great style. Great attitude. Add sponsored products to the channel if you want. This is a business. You need to provide. I'll be here. Waiting for the next upload. See you next week.

This channel was a great find for me, so much of the content is relatable. It's great to see how someone else utilizes many of the same things and is willing to share them for all to see. The Firewood processing, heating with it, the older Deere L&G & compacts, Ford trucks, an endless array of home projects. Great video content that was presented with your attention to editing/ video quality. Please keep going with your same format and looking forward to what you share in 2022! All the best to you and your family from MN!

Organized chaos comes to mind as you are walking around the man cave. I could only wish for your chaos Neil. I do want to address that "dog water" in the fridge though. Sad brother, just sad. Having the compressor in the restroom would certainly help keep you regular if it kicked on while having a quiet moment. Nice choice! I figure if you take to time to film, edit and post something, the least I owe you is a comment Neil. Your time is valuable and it's appreciated more than you know brother. As far as products go, if you believe and rely on something. your word is good enough for me at this point. I don't ever see your channel becoming an infomercial ran at 2AM. Kara would kick your ass if that happened. Last but not least, finding a frame for that garage door panel is gonna be a bitch! Thank you for the video, it was a pleasure to watch Neil. Happy New Year to you and love home my friend.

I know exactly why, given the time (and sometimes I do, health issues keeping me from my own massive Project List) binge anything that looks interesting that comes up on the sidebar with your channel logo: it's relatable, exceptionally well-produced, you obviously have a passion for it, but most of all, you are a genuine Good Neighbor kind of guy. By that, I mean you're wholesome yet infectious that I'm always curious to see what you're working on/sharing with your audience. I actually started listing what Good Neighbor really meant to me, but as a reformed author and you being a smart fellow, I'm sure you know what values are dying out in America that I love seeing on your channel. TLDR: don't change a thing! Consequently, there's a handful of channels I'm putting on a shortlist for our next product launch, and I'd be genuinely honored if I could add you to the list, but me being me, it won't release until it's as good as it can possibly be. It's one of those spin-off things that ended up being so interesting for the Million in 1 Uses kind of deal that it's taken over primary development around here. Anyway, I'm not looking for exposure unless it's earned, we're a small family company so I can't/won't shower you in freebies, but a pint sample can is very doable. Don't know if you've set up a PO Box yet, but it seems a common item that a lot of youtubers who accept freebies from subs or whatnot will offer up from time to time before they get too big and need to rent out a warehouse 😁 At risk of being extraordinarily long already, I wish you the best of future success and will enjoy your passion projects before this channel blows up. (Afterwards also, naturally, but with size you'll have to hire a PR person to monitor your comment section. The trivialities of being too good at something, eh?)
@digdrivediy Жыл бұрын
Well I appreciate this comment very much. Thanks for such a thoughtful take on things and yes; I feel as if I have a sense of what traits are dwindling in neighbors across America. That community pride and togetherness is still out there, we're just not t seeing enough of it. Thanks for the consideration of being included in your product launch. I am intrigued to know more for sure. I don't foresee my channel getting too big anytime soon, but I'll be glad to help out other small business owners in any way that I can. You can find me via snail mail at: PO. Box 137 Harlan, IN 46743 Thanks for the great comments and for following along with the silly stuff I record.

@@digdrivediy Can't guarantee when that may show up, we're still trying to figure out if it pertains to hazmat requirements even though it shouldn't, but if one day next spring a small can in a square box shows up with suspicious labels from Texas, give it a chance before calling the bomb squad. 😉 Long story shortish, I was working with a small team to fabricate stronger composite jet engine parts right before Covid hit and wiped out our project. I continued working on stuff at home and ended up with this spin-off product that every time I test it on something, I find a new use for it. It'll come with fairly thorough paperwork, but it's primarily designed as an additive for strengthening anything that can be mixed (concrete and 3d printing resin have responded phenomenally above expectations thus far) or painted, and as a side benefit, it doesn't corrode under extreme heat (just discovered it also reverses rust to a point last month!)

Love the shop tour / ideas. I have a mixing board in my shop from time to time too hah!. so good to see how you have things organized. I like the second story storage area - keeps that misc stuff out of the way. Product placement in video is fine, but I've definitely unsubscribed (and block them from search results etc) from channels that have so much sponsored stuff that it becomes unrelatable. Like hey, "we're going to weld up a mower deck today" and they have 3 brand new welders, a brand new exhaust setup, a brand new mower, and it's like, alrighty then.. wish I had all that! Eventually the channel isn't even working on a real-world level and I unsubscribe. The youtubers I watch, tell my friends and family about, and support weekly are always just raw/real and make any situation into a learning one.. just like reality, right - we make due with what we have on hand. I'd much rather see a toolbox you bought with your first credit card (I can relate) than a $20k brand new Snap On. However, if Snap On gives you a led trouble light that you've had good luck with, yeah drop the name.. mention it.. there's a good chance I might need one too. It's just gotta be relatable.

I have watched your channel, enjoyed your content, always waited for you to post again. I also read most of the commentary and did notice you reply to many, if not all for sure. You also will comment with large responses. I always wondered, how do you do that? How do you have that much time, and still have work, homelife and sleep? Your channel is growing and we should all realize that change has to come. I believe one of my last commenting was long and I was surprised to see your reply as long. I do not feel I need you to respond to me, not even a short one, I comment because I like to. So with that being said ... NO REPLY NEEDED! I tend to comment a bunch. I think you tell a great story and I’d love to see you be a $10k/month KZbinr. I think with this video, you shared more than any other channel I watch, so I thank you for sharing. My one piece of advice (besides encouraging you to partner with more established KZbinr on videos to increase your base), is to ensure you are transparent about paid relationships - I’d suggest at the level of the recent Tractor Time with Tim new tractor video, where he mentioned where he had John Deere/AHW assistance. He stayed away from actual $$$, but I felt he was as transparent as a professional KZbinr should be.

The KZbin algorithm may disagree but I think I speak for most people when I say quality over quantity. Really like the way you edit your videos Neil. Keep up the good work!

Suggestion, not sure if this will work for your overhead doors, but when I was in the warehouse business had many doors that a blower on the door, activated when the door opens, and shuts off when closed, keeps heat and air inside ., also was in HVAC for many years, and when had built my garage long ago, I installed duct work for heating and cooling with a furnace and a/c ,yep ran on propane ,of course my roof was insulated as well, but with your open, you could just put up installation or fiber board, so even need to take it down? or make a storage up above?
@digdrivediy2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks David. Always appreciate the advice of and experienced veteran. My ceiling is well insulated. Are you meaning that I should have insulation up against the roof as well? I'm lucky that it doesn't take much to heat it as I've thought about a propane variant also. That little electric heater I have will heat it up to 70 in here on it's own in a couple hours so I think there are lots of potential ideas. I like those wind curtains for the doors though! Thanks for watching and great suggestion. Take care!

Just tripped across one of your videos and watched a few more. Looked up Harlen Days, because my wife and I always love a good local festival, and it looks like you may be a couple counties over. I will be keeping an eye out for this years festival. Loved the shop tour!

Awesome! We enjoy our little festival quite a bit. First weekend in August (Aug 4,5,6, 2022). Thanks for checking out the videos Nate!

I think you should do a video of the band. Or at the very least a drum solo. I think the garage door timeline is a great idea. As for sponsors, I'm happy to know you'll only promote the things you'd use. Happy New Year!
@digdrivediy2 жыл бұрын
I may do a band video some day but never felt it was a good fit for most of the content here. I'm really not a great drummer so a solo would probably not be exciting for anyone! :) There is a video on my channel of us setting up an outdoor stage and you can see the band up close. Thanks for the great feedback and thanks for watching!

Found your channel about 6 months ago? I really enjoy what you do, the garden tractors, diy, shop content, family life, it's all things I do myself and you do a great job of sharing it. I like that you don't put out videos just to make videos... it's always much better when there is a purpose. It gets old when other channels make videos that feel like there isn't a purpose other than getting people to click. As far as product advertisement goes, I don't mind it as long as it's not over the top. Keep doing what you've been doing, I always look forward to your new videos. I wish you well with '22.
@digdrivediy2 жыл бұрын
That is great feedback. I feel the exact same way as I've watched a few others where I felt it was a bit forced. Personally I would rather have quality over quantity but unfortunately KZbin rewards you more for the latter. I hope I can still sustain with just doing purposeful videos so I value your thoughts on that. Thanks a lot Keith and Happy New Year to you and yours!

Found u by watching the wood splitting video, then this shop tour, I find it interesting and like many men wish they had the place and tools to work on stuff, do you ever worry about haters or security showing off all your belongings like this I would feel insecure myself and unsafe showing all my personal possessions and where everything is especially in this day and age I would have flashed a gun or two at the end of the video
@digdrivediy2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for checking it out Anthony. Oh yes, I most certainly worry about it once in a while. Any of my videos on KZbin can make us vulnerable I suppose. We try to take comfort in knowing that we live in a place that really isn't heavily populated and the fact that anyone that pulls into our house is on video and if they go in any of the buildings they are also on video. I have asked other KZbinrs about this stuff too and the majority say there haven't been any problems. There's always risk I suppose but I'm gonna hope for good rather than worry about the potential bad. Thanks for watching!

Gday from Australia!! Nice “Man Shed” as we call them here down-under! Not sure the heating system is something we need here but having an Air-conditioned shed would “spoil a man” for sure! Love what you do and thanks for sharing it with the world.

Ok, I am going to add my two cents. First off, LOVE the shop. I am still dreaming of a shop that big. A car lift should be next on your list. I suggest asking Kara for one for your birthday. I had to laugh when you said you heat the shop to 50 to 55. I would be freezing to death if it were that cold. I guess you folks are used to the cold over there. Also had to give ya a thumbs up when I noticed the type of frosty cold beverages you have in the Frige. Among the low carb beverages, that is the most drinkable. Red wine is better though......lol. I must have missed the tour of the wine cellar below the shop floor. As for the sponsors. I will be honest. I immediately become suspicious of any product that someone is pushing on their KZbin channel for exactly the reason you mentioned. This is why I like the approach that Project Farm takes. I would suggest that if you do want to showcase some products, go into it super honest as you mentioned. but to gain some street cred, I would want to see you try the item out for the fist time on camera so we can see your reactions and responses real time (no editing them out sir). If the item stinks, say so. I will make the commitment to do the same in the comments because folks need good honest reviews these days before spending their hard earned cash on things. I believe that a manufacturer has to have enough confidence in their product that they do tell you to be super honest on camera. If I were in their shoes, I would want honest negative feedback as much as the positive feedback because that will improve the product and address issues that are limiting their current sales. I have done beta testing for manufactures in the past so I know what they expect. It is not always what they got....at least from me, anyway. You already know I enjoy each and every video that comes out. Honestly, the longer they are the better. But I get that they are a time sink and we both know you already have your real priorities front and center in your life. I guess what I am trying to say is that I understand the need to cut back a little and respect that you are doing what you need to do and that you are doing your best to take care of your KZbin family too. For that I am very thankful. Happy new year, my friend! ps....I appreciate the fact that you are one of the rare few that does not beg for folks to like and subscribe after every video. I wish others on KZbin could understand that it just takes something away from the sincerity of the video to do that every single video. Its real simple. If folks got something out of what they viewed or or really enjoyed it, they typically will hit the like button to express that. So glad you already know this.

I've thought about a car hoist on multiple occasions. I've had the opportunity to buy one or two as well, but I just don't do as much of that work anymore. There are days when I would really want it I'm sure, but I like having the open space when I need it as well. 50 degrees feels cold at the beginning of the winter but then when it gets down to 0 outside then it feels tropical in the shop! It's too cold to sit around in at 50-55 but as long as you're moving then a hoodie is all you need to be comfortable; at least it is for me. I use the coffee maker in the shop more than the brews in the fridge. Mostly for company these days. I enjoy red wine very much though too! I really appreciate your feedback on the sponsorship stuff. That is good advice and I will certainly keep it in mind. That's why I never mentioned the Brunt boots. I felt I couldn't speak to how good or bad they were until I'd used them for a good bit. I didn't like them at first because they were so stiff but they're fine now. Also glad to hear you say you prefer not asking for subs and likes all the time. I think it is somewhat annoying! Happy New Year and thanks for being such a great supporter!
