It’s been over two years since we did the first shop tour and figured it was about time for another. Things have changed a lot in the AOC shop since then, and I found new and better ways to manage my small shop to make it feel and work like a big space. Enjoy!

Thank you for showing us your workshop. The beer fridge is the ultimate addition. Putting some item on wheels is an awesome idea, making it portable & creating space. We're very interested with your exotic wood collection. What sort are they & what do you use it for? Handles? Greetings from Christmas Island.

Thanks for watching. Yep! The beer fridge is definitely a highlight. Lol. The exotics are a wide range of things that I have collected over the years. I grab them knowing that I like the look for knife handles, and use them for those and lot of other things that pop up.

This was totally awesome! I really enjoy rustic looking shops, so yours was a gold find. Although mine is in a garage, I too have a low ceiling and exposed joists/rafters. Good to see I'm not alone in cramming enough stuff to fill a cargo train up there.

I’m watching a video of yours from January 2019 titled “Making a Bushcraft Axe”. I’m REALLY interested in the axe head shown at the 12:45 mark of that video. Seems to have a “true temper” style wedge going on. If you wouldn’t mind letting me know what kind of head it is so I could look for one online that would be AWESOME!

I want to help, but I’m not sure which axe you are referencing. At that time in the video, there is a council tool “Jersey” pattern single bit axe, but if that’s not what you are talking about, please add some more info and I’ll do my best to answer.

@@TaylorMadeOutdoors ah yes. The axe that you are interested is one of my favorite axes, and I’m not normally that interested in half hatchets. Unfortunately, it’s unmarked, so I can’t tell you the maker, but I can tell you that it’s a half hatchet, with phantom bevels. I’ve done a little research on it and haven’t been able to find any other like it. Thanks for

Do you ever have a problem with moisture affecting anything in your shop? I worry about it and my sandpaper sometimes

Yeah, it’s a struggle. I run a dehumidifier nearly year round, but it’s the space I have to work with. I try and keep my metal surfaces oiled. Things I’m worried about getting effected by moisture I’ll keep in bins and totes, which helps surprisingly well.

I love seeing the nooks and crannies. It's so personalized. My shop is similar. To an outsider, it looks like chaos, but every inch of it is organized and I have a home for everything. I share a home with 4 girls, so it's nice to have a little space for myself.

I don’t. I’ve used all of the axes that I’ve collected and hung. The only ones I haven’t used are ones that are not on handles yet. 😁

I have a big wood workers vice mounted to my workbench and all the other tools that normally would be mounted to a bench or pedestal have a 4x4 piece of wood attached to them, when I need that particular tool I just take it off the shelf and clamp it into the vise. These are the tools I use this way, chain grinder, bench grinder, belt sander, small drill press and a metal vise. Now I have all this extra space on my table to collect clutter...
