Is the myshopify domain indexed in Google or not?

If Google can see it, yes. You can also check CTRL+U and Find (CTRL+F) robots to see if there are noindex tags. For the Shopify Tutorials I've used a test site (which was password protected, but most likely Google can see it). I see what you mean. *NO* is the answer for your question, Google will treat either one as original (99.9999% the main domain as original). This is not a case of duplicate content issue.
