Thank you so much! @CA Garden I am thinking I should do a long video one day of the waves and sounds they make just to put up for people to listen to and enjoy as a background sort of video. Yes, I couldn't resist that staghorn. I'm going to possibly plant it up for my house studio so I can look at it more as I work. The bromeliad was really wonderful too, amazing colour, and it's already started to bud! I'll share the flowers in a future vlog if they bloom.

@@DonnaDavisArt Your current vlog focus on capturing the beauty in nature is spot on! These incredibly stressful times. Remembering to take "tranquil nature moments" will reduce the strain that we are all feel nowadays. A long New England ocean waves video will be a very welcomed addition to my meditative environmental video playlist! In advance, thank you for sharing the bromeliad buds and autumn flower garden designs.

Hello Donna, I love the introduction, such beautiful music with amazing cinematography. What a stunning variety of pumpkins, especially the ghost pumpkins 🎃. I love the wall boat planters , such a unique idea. The prices of the shrubs are very good in relation to the garden centres around here. Your choice of plants for your garden is perfect with the chosen variety of colours. It was a perfect outing for such a perfect day. I love how the sea grass dances in the tide just to show us it’s beauty one last time before it’s winter sleep. Thankyou Donna for sharing another wonderful vlog 😊😊😊😘

I'm so glad you enjoyed it @jason nash and yes some form of boat planters are often found round here, being so near the sea. They are adorable. Some of the prices were so good as it was end of season so they mark them down 50% off. Tho, that one shrub I really loved was $150 US dollar, a bit steep for me :) We are lucky with quite a few nice garden centre around here so I try to spread it around to all fo them :)

Another lovely day with you! Why am I not surprised that you also love watching Laura on Garden Answer? She has inspired me to up my garden game. 🤭☺️. I also love Dan!!!
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
Yes @Kim Haughton I LOVE Laura, and usually start my morning (after doing the chickens, quail, ONE garden thing and my walk) is settle in with my hot pot of tea and watch Garden Answer :) And yes Dan is hilarious we are so lucky with our garden choices of channels to watch. I also love Gardeners world (one of the few 'tv' type shows I watch) but I wish the entire show was just MONTY DON in his garden, like Laura, now they jump around too much to this clip and that...People just want to be with one person in their garden , well at least I do haha. They could learn from the youtubers. The reason I get excited about Proven Winners is due to Laura. I always look out for the white pots now. I used to be a die hard Monrovia gal (still like some of their variety) but so many Proven Winners are such good doers. Their roses are AMAZING. I just got one of the smaller variety of butterfly bush , after seeing Laura point it out and luckily one of our garden centres had some, and it's already done so well and it's its first season. I could talk plants far too long, thanks for watching :)

@@DonnaDavisArt Same here as far as talking about plants so don't worry about talking too much about it with me. Haha. I had never heard about Proven Winners before Garden Answer! I'm happy to know that you've been able to find their products in your area! I will be planting Proven Winners as much as possible next year at least to the extent that they are available. I also have plans for a butterfly bush in my garden. I'll have to check out the other show you mentioned. 💕💕💕

I love how the area around your home is sparsely populated, not house upon house like some areas.😁😁
@DonnaDavisArt3 жыл бұрын
As do I @Edward Kenneth we're lucky there as there are some spots, on the water, where the houses are cheek adn jowel as they say, but luckily during the post WW2 building boom the clever ancestors round here were smart enough to put in conditions and no one can build on any less than 3 acres in our little points, which basically means, no new houses (other than tearing down and making over the ones already here). There are some darling spots with homes closer and of course I love in the villages when they are close, my own little antique cottge near the village has neighbours (tho with good hedges and trees for privacy) so it's a nice mix of village and country I think.

I love them @Katrina Toland in fact I grew them first time this year. In one of my previous videos the pumpkin I shared, the one on my fence post, is of this pink variety but the lighting was probably not doing it justice, the variety is Porcelain Doll, if you want to grow them :) I'm not sure how they are for eating but really lovely to look at.

Lovely drive through the village. The houses are so nice with lots of trees and bushes. I love going to garden centres and usually spend quite a long time there .... and also a lot of money, occasionally. I think I have never seen so many pumpkins, so many different varieties, some of which I have never seen before. Whenever I go on an outing, I am always happy to get back home to a familiar scene, tea, music, reading, the cats, of course, and my garden. I must admit I am a very home-loving person. Thank you for the lovely moment spent in your company. Take care of yourself. See you next Sunday! 💚🙏💚🙏

I'm so happy you enjoyed my little outing @Huber BARIL and yes we always have such a glut of pumpkins. This place actually has a smaller number than the larger places. When we had our place in Boston, each year this time of the year, in the Common in the center of the city, not far from where we lived, they do a large display, almost a story and half tall, of carved pumpkins, jack o lanterns we call them. Hubby is in the city during the week for work, so I might see if He can get a bit of footage of it this year. Americans, especially New England, really do love their pumpkins and many variety this time of the year.

Your garden centre put the pumpkin festival Dan visited (4 pumpkins!) to shame, just with its out-front display! Never seen the gnarly bumpy variety before. Choked slightly at the cost of some items - I've had a stag's horn fern in the garden for years, very tough, it'd be worth about $100 if we were going by size 😄. A lot of similar plants to those sold here in the UK, maritime climate I expect.

I'm so glad you enjoy them @Denise Connors and I know a bit about plants, I've just been obsessed with them my entire life, but I'm so bad with many of my Latin terms. My Grandfather was So good, he could give me the Latin for almost any plant we encountered. I always think of him when I'm in my garden; I have him there with me in spirit. Yes New England shines this time of the year. The golden glow of the light and the leaves the waves and shores, the grasses fading and all the church spires and old cedar shakes, crooked sidewalks and even our lovely our burial grounds and cemeteries take on an extra beauty round here this time of the year.

You are so welcome! @Angela Pa I Love the oyster shell too, the white broken shells are such a coastal New England look in drives round here and ours are almost all gone. One day I'd love to get some in, but they aren't cheap to order. When the family had the oyster grant in the bay it was just part of the deal , but alas no longer. It's lovely to see them against the old weathered shingled houses here.

I forgot to show that but YES I did buy that staghorn fern @ola infree, it has pride of place just now in my little plant room, but I'm going to put it in a lovely pot and either keep it in my house studio or in the main sitting room. I got the other wonderful bromeliad as well and it's already started to send out a blossom, when it flowers, I'll video it for the vlog. I forgot to get the cute framed picture, but might get it when I go back for garlic to plant, if its' still there.
